What Video Games have you been playing II: Have you finished that backlog?

I think I just liked using crappy weapons so that the few kills I did get would seem more impressive.

Strange, I haven't had anything like that happen. I've started using a mod that slows aging to 1 year per year, which I think has some unintended effects. Like, nobody's died in 35 years. The game's difficulty settings don't seem to do anything beyond your starting position, so even though I have disasters enabled, they happen only once in a blue moon. I'm also trying Colonial Charter, which adds a whole lot of stuff.

Hmm, maybe they've patched some of that stuff out then? I haven't played it in 6 months or so, maybe I'll give it another shot at some point.

Naw, that's fair enough. Plus Deagle Deagle Deagle MP5 MP5 MP5 MP5 AWP AWP AWP AWP AWP AWP AWP AWP Colt AK Colt AK AWP AWP Colt AK Deagle AWP AWP AWP AWP... got really really boring. Let me guess guys, you're going to buy an AWP and snipe at toes on the Dust bridge this round, and next round, and next round, and next round, right? Anyone going to plant the bomb? Do you even know it's on your character? Could you drop it? No? Hello? These are the people that started playing WoW when it came out.

:lol::goodjob:

On the servers I used to play on there were public leaderboards for the most kills and best kpd with specific weapons. So I got really good at using the p228, sg550/g3, ump -- all those pointless weapons that nobody in their right minds ever used.

Also I started playing WoW when it came out :(

Exceptions to the rule Mise, you can be an exception! And I liked the UMP too. It didn't deal as much damage as the MP5 but the ump had thump. If you tagged a player with a round it stopped them moving for a while.

I played WoW with some good people but when you start raiding, yeah, it's easy to pick out the non-bomb-planters in the crowd. People that seem to have absolutely no conception of what cooperative team play is, AKA the whole reason Blizzard has had to steadily nerf the difficulty of raids, because most people are too stupid to figure out how to work together as a group.

It was a crack against all the morons who played on the same server as me and couldn't figure out that the glowing green stuff on the ground is why they're dying 3 seconds into the fight.

Some of them were Australians I think, there were a lot of aussies on my server for some reason.

You'd think Australians would know better about glowing green stuff on the ground being dangerous.

Hmm, maybe they've patched some of that stuff out then?
Could be. I think one of the recent updates was mainly focused on the modding tools, and there are a buttload of mods available. A lot of them are designed to make the game easier (e.g. more units of stone per pile), which I can't understand; I'm currently looking for a mod that makes the game harder.

I, Nero Julius the Great, have dissolved the senate of Rome after kicking the despicable Brutii out of Italy. Unfortunately, while I was busy my stupid family has lost Britain to the barbarians and a large chunk of Germany to the Brutii.

That's just a commercial measure. They'd improve the game by weeding out idiots who know nothing about strategy or tactics.

So I caved in and did the Glarthir sidequest, and da dee da dum, I get to the point where I can report him to the guards. Game seemed to get bugged slightly when right after I told the guards about his death list, it seemed like he died immediately. Basically, he vanished, without a trace.

I'm scared.

:shifty:

(Also now I'm headed towards Anvil, which is my favorite Oblivion city, mediterranean paradise and all, yay.)

Someone should secretly mod your game so that all anvil guards are now glarthir
or is that a crime against humanity?

I've been playing Republic at War, an excellent mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption that sets the game in the Clone Wars. As the Republic, I've reached the point where the Seppies cannot win. Sure, their fleets of battleships can destroy my low-level space stations, but they can never defeat the Fleet. It consists of the huge star dreadnought Pride of the Core supported by Venator-class and Victory I-class Star Destroyers, Carrack cruisers, Acclamator-class assault ships, corvettes, and all their huge fighter and bomber complements. The Fleet is usually supported by Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Plo Koon in their fighters; they're almost impossible to kill and excel at killing fighters and bombers. I've wiped out every fleet and planetary defense I've met with them, even a force of four or five Trade Federation battleships, a Providence-class destroyer/carrier, and the huge Malevolence herself.

Meanwhile, in ground battles, I always use Delta Squad, Yoda, an AT-TE, a field commander, and some other units if I can. They're unstoppable.

It helps that a lot of my planets are defended by a planetary turbolaser that can one-shot almost any ship, including Trade Federation battleships, and which can fire once every ten seconds or so.
