You forgot the image!

I didn't "forget", I thought it would look tacky

Don't worry. Sparatus has dismissed that claim too. :p

So I created my Shepard which is completely randomly generated and he looks like a goblin. That's because instead of using the "Randomize" button for the face, I randomly placed all the customization sliders.

I guess that will make my chosen love interest seem less shallow since they will clearly be falling in love with my Shepard's personality.

You should show us a screenshot of Commander Goblin. :)

Sadly, I own the Mass Effect series on console like a filthy peasant, so screenshots will not be forthcoming.

Cool thing is, I did random sliders for Saints Row The Third as well and my character came out kinda looking like Danny Trejo. You know, except for the schoolgirl pigtails he has for a hairstyle...(totally random, I swear!)

Best place to own it, of course. :D

Errr, no. :p

I started a new game of Skyrim over the weekend. An Orsimer (that's an ork, for those unfamiliar with the Elder Scrolls) warrior. Heavy armor, shield & one-handed weapons, bows, with a side dish of sneaking and lock-picking.

So far I'm about 14th level, my best skill, 1-handed weapons, is like 42 or something, and I've pretty much stuck around Whiterun. The one mission to free the dude from the elvish prison up on the north coast took me pretty far, but otherwise I've mostly hung around the starting area. On the way, I stuck my head into Solitude, just so I can fast-travel there later.

Some mods: Something that improves the UI; something that improves the graphics, particularly of the 'background' stuff, like rope and chains; something that adds atmospheric background sounds to towns, dungeons, and the wilderness; something that adds more functionality to companions, so you can set their gear and behavior and do silly things like make them dance or use idle animations when nothing's happening. That one also lets you have more than one companion - so far I only have Lydia and Jenassa. A few other mods that I can't remember right now. And no, I'm not using any NSFW mods. I thought about it, though.

The atmospheric sounds mod has some funny knock-on effects. I was unable to find a good mod for increasing the populations of settlements, so the sounds mod for towns & villages is way out of whack with what you see onscreen. It sounds like you're surrounded by a great hubbub of activity, but you look around and it's the usual half-dozen people. In dungeons, there are all sorts of groans and creaks and distant wails that are hard to distinguish from actual monsters lurking around the corner, so the mod has made me totally paranoid and ready to get jumped at any moment.

The companion mod also lets you set up a camp in the wilderness, which gives you a bedroll, a cooking pot, and a tanning rack. I haven't really used it, though.

While we're on The Elder Scrolls...

...I should have gotten bored by Oblivion now. Strangely enough...I really aren't. There's something...relaxing in adventuring across abandoned dungeons and fort ruins, despite being so repetitive and all that. Very odd, but I am not yet bored by Oblivion yet.

Speaking of dungeons, I'd want a mod without all those candles and torches lighting the way. There's no reason an ancient and unused crypt would be fully stocked at all times with fresh candles, and being in near-total darkness, with only the light of your torch, spells, and the glowing blue eyes of draugr would be much more interesting.

But most of all, I wish Skyrim had the directional attack and blocking system of Mount & Blade. Right now there's just attack, power attack, block, and bash. Blocking takes no player skill, so melee combat is basically boring button mashing.

Taking a break from Mass Effect for a bit to delve into the real heavy stuff. Going to play through Spec Ops: The Line again. Because, you know, I've been in way too good a mood lately and we can't have that now can we?

I still play Skyrim from time to time.

Just got GTA IV on Steam and after downloading that incredibly stupid Game for Windows Live thing I got it to work, it's been great fun. Of course, the problem is I keep ignoring the missions and getting into ridiculous shoot-outs with the cops.

I can't decide if I want my Skyrim character to become a werewolf. It doesn't seem like it's all that great, unless you just have a thing for werewolves. I wanted to become a member of the Companions, and I asked ol' greybeard whatsisname if all of them were werewolves and he said, no, only the inner circle, but then -bam- I get the mission to become one with the beast like 5 minutes later. Er... Wha..? :crazyeye:

It's not really all that great, especially in vanilla. You can run really fast and you're pretty good in melee combat, but the alternate form does block the map, inventory and so on.

The pros, as far as I can tell, are immunity to disease and getting the Companions as, er, companions. Of course, Cure Disease potions are a dime a dozen, and there are lots of followers to choose from. I think if you're not a member of the Circle, the Companions will still train you and you can still use their lodge in Whiterun (and since I have a house there, I really only need the Skyforge), they just won't go adventuring with you. Aela the Huntress is kind of sexy, I guess, but I'm not that desperate.

Hey that's my wife you're talking about!! (IIRC)

Re werewolf form: yeah it's not all that. I hardly used it at all. And you can't heal, right? But part of the problem was that it took me quite some time before realising that werewolves have a howl power that is pretty essential in combat as a werewolf.
