What will you be doing untill the patch comes out?

I've been polishing off my Europa Universalis III gameplay for the past month waiting for the next patch so, I'll just continue that. Frankfurtian Brazil is mine! bwahaha

I cheat. :) I go in and edit my BB after starting with a small country.

Working on my scenario/mod.

playing dragon age 2, i.e., another stupid unfinished game, just like ciV.

new witcher is my next step.

I'll be playing Civ V on the weekend like I normally do. This time though, I'm going to go with a civ I don't play often. Most of the time I like to play either Babylon on continents or the Incas on a Highland map. I need to change up my routine.

Hehe, doing that makes it waaaay to easy to form Germany or Japan if you're playing Divine Wind :mischief:. speedy world conquest is your plan then? If I'm a masochist that day I play Wallachia, no amount of BB reduction will help them get off their feet and manage to fight off the Ottomans, Poles and Hungarians, I think I'd rather play a Southeast Asian Minor than Wallachia. You'd have to cheat in some crazy merchant income or change the tax values for their starting territories to make them any easier .

I wasnt going to play till the patch came out but i loaded up a save i wanted to finish and enjoyed it so much i cant resist starting a new one.

btw, is there some info on what will change?

I left CiV for over a year, annoyed by the horrible balance and shallow gameplay. Can somebody update me on whether cities still fall like flies and whether horsemen spam still owns Diety without any problems? ^^

Comparing with releaseday, units are stronger, city defense is cheaper, horsemen is nerfed, ICS is no longer the dominant strategy through several tweaks and added content like National Wonders and better city growth.

Heh. :) Not really world conquest. Last time I did it, I tried to emulate Eric Flint's "1632" book, where a town gets transported back in time to Germany during the 30 years' war.

Basically involves starting in one little German city-state, Wurttemburg or something like that.

I couldn't get their tech to match. :) Paradox does a good job of keeping runaway civs under control, if you've got a high tech base you're hampered in any further research pretty badly. (And the guys around you catch up, but that's fine.)

If you don't edit the BB rating a little bit, after expanding only 4-5 provinces you'll be at war with the whole world, it's just to make the game playable.

<sigh> I miss EU. Edit: I was using EUIII for my little adventure.

horsemen got nerfed and next patch is fixing a lot of gameplay inculding walls/castle.

Are you in some sort of time warp?

Clearly, he's living at least three months into the future. How else can he leave a game for over a year if the game has only been out for nine months?

What an interesting thought. That's what Civ V needs as a new Wonder - The Time Machine.

I'll finish my current game- a WWII scenario domination attempt. A walkover, but really more of an exercise in seeing if it's possible to have enough patience to see it through until the end.

Alternatively, I'll spend my time posting here!

thanks for the answers ^^ lol, wasn't aware of the time. I left CiV a week or two after the release, it seems like forever since I last played it, hence the "over a year" part ^^

nine months can definitively change everything :p

I've been playing Mount & Blade. Great game. A sort of mix between an RPG and a Total War game. With the worst graphics ever (as in: pre-year 2000 graphics), but the great gameplay makes up for it! :)

Since I only play a mod when I play, these "patches" are mostly an annoyance unless they come up with something super duper or release information that lets modders mod better/easier. I haven't played vanilla since the first 2 weeks when it came out and it was only one mod that I use that saved the game for me, so patches really mean time off from the game for me.

:) . The game is alot better now than on release , that last big patch was excellent , made a huge difference for me when they tweaked all the buildings. Ai while not great is better as well , i think people expect too much , for me the AI is acceptable now.

Aside from worrying about happiness im really looking forward to the patch.
