What would an atheist chaplain do?

edit; since the quote Akka used was from page 3 ... didn't realise you followed up "Why do you hate religious people?" with "(I know you don't, okay)". Not meaning to get involved between you and Akka, but I felt that warranted pointing out.

Thanks :) Yeah, it was pretty selective quoting, but I honestly think it was no harm/no foul on his part since he was using that quote wording really to just lay the groundwork for his statement.

Atheism is fully encapsulated within the Venn diagram of Satanism! Just like Islam, Hinduism, and every other non-Christian faith.

Well that's true, I've never hidden that. About the only situation I can imagine me voting for an atheist is if I was being -forced- to choose between an atheist and a satanist.

Ugh, it's pretty dangerous to mix religion with politics.
Religion - regardless how much you believe in it - is a philosophy made of theories that could very likely have been made up from scratch.
Politics is the art of leading a state; electing a stateman should be based on his ability to deal with the facts and reality regarding the state, rather than what abstract theory he believes in.

That's why radical atheists exist, they are a natural counter to people who tries to bring imagination into reality to a dangerous extent.

I'm not really sure why we can't simply keep separated things, well, separated.

It's pretty dangerous to mix science with politics.
It's pretty dangerous to mix history with politics.
It's pretty dangerous to mix economics with politics.
It's pretty dangerous to mix medicine with politics.
It's pretty dangerous to mix geography with politics.

There's a constant factor, here, and it isn't religion... :mischief:

The most dangerous of these seems to be geography!

I could go for replacing all religions with atheism. At least we would actually know where people stand.

I am a literalist. There is no room for belief.

I know myself.

On equal footing?
