What would be your ideal living situation?

Alone? With friends? With a wife/husband/family? Alone? Alone but with a bunch of friends living nearby (on your block or in your neighborhood)?

Would you prefer to live an apartment or a house? What type of apartment/house? Would you prefer small and cozy or a mansion? Would you like a large backyard or just enough space for parking and a lawn chair?

Also, do you prefer rural, urban or suburban? What would your ideal neighborhood be like?

Just curious about everyone's preferences.

Right now, with friends, in a house, with no garden or garage, a big lounge, a big shower, and a small warm bedroom with some cupboards and wardrobes, in the city within walking distance to my university, McDonalds/baked potato shop/other fast food place, and a large cheap supermarket. But most importantly, I would really like to live with good friends.

Oooh! a big park would be nice to live near to too.

What would be your ideal living situation?

With a wife, kids and servants in a penthouse suite on top of a condominium building that I own entirely. I lease out the other units in the lower floors to others and let my extended family members live in some of them for free. The building is smack downtown. There's a mall with a cineplex downstairs, and a police department, fire station and a hospital right beside it. A large park is opposite the road on one side.

I and my family will never need to work evermore, living off rent and interest from the money in the bank.

Hey I can dream, can't I? You said 'ideal living situation' not 'remotely feasible'...

A house with courtyard and garden. I just love open space and privacy. An indoor heated swimming pool. Warm rooms; triple-glazed windows with the metallic layer, cosy open fire, in-floor heating... and snow outside, maybe a snowman

The reality is a studio (within walking distance of uni, McDonalds, large cheap supermarket, and right on the edge of a park - hehe, mise!) with single pane of glass between me and the outside. Brrr..!

PB mansion conjures up images of selfish two-faced, superficial boring people, with hidden agendas and not an ounce of trust among them. I would have to throw everyone out, and completely restructure it into a warm cuddly private family home (as described above)
