What would your D&D stats be?

I don't know if they were in the base 2E list of L1 spell...I know Baldur,s Gate (based on, but modified from, the DnD 2e ruleset) had at least Chromatic Orb and...Burning Hands I think in its L1 arsenal but they may have come from later sourcebooks, been added for BG, or have been downgraded from higher difficulties.

Not that it mattered. At the end of hte day there really was only one spell on the L1 spelllist in that game,. Its name started with Ma, ended with le, and had gic missi in the middle.

Problem is the overwhelming number of spell-like abilities for every single character class and the monsters. Say hypothetically you were designing a (very-)low magic campaign. The Pathfinder ruleset is basically incompatible with your setting.

With a few adjustments to 3.5e, I could make my campaign work. I've looked into updating it for Pathfinder and thrown up my hands in frustration.
Try Fantasycraft. I haven't even read their section on spellcasting. Never have needed it.

Have you looked at the Cyberpunk 2020 / Interlock rules? They don't explicitly handle magic, but some fan books added it in. Plus, the Interlock rules themselves are pretty simple so it wouldn't be hard at all to jury rig something together.

I'll keep these in mind in case I revive the campaign in the future. Until then, I'm a bit busy with other projects.

If you want low magic with improved-upon 3.5 rules, Iron Heroes is your friend. Pathfinder is the wrong way.

Muahahahaha, I'm the only one it seems who could be a multiclassed cleric / mage.

Based on the test thing rather than my OP. I am Aerie!!!

Jan Jansen!

[after being resurrected with Keldorn in the party] Greetings, everyone. Sorry, no gifts or souvenirs this time but I'll keep you all in mind the next time I'm gone. Oh, Keldorn: the gods say 'hi' and that you should wash your underwear more thoroughly. Everyone ready? Let's go adventuring.

Jan Jansen was my hero. The perfect example of how awesome Chaotic Neutrals are.
