bud light, it's not the best, but i always seem to have one when i go out.

I never realized just how crappy American beer was until I visited Amsterdam and Munich (for Oktoberfest).

Though I tend to believe that beer halls and rollercoasters and other amusement park thrill rides just don't mix. It does put those first aid stations to really good use. :D

Sounds like an Aryan standard, if you know what I mean :)

All beer has to have blonde crown

All beer must not be dark in shade

All beer must be pure and untainted by outside influence

YOU will drink only our beer, it is pure unsullied and Das is gut ya!?:):ack:

I too have heard the Germans make the best beer, in fact I met a German once who said our beer was like piss in comparrison, maybe he was right? :) Mind you he was drinking Heineken at the time.

Sadly however they are right. Dutch/ French beer is chemical hangover juce (tastes nice at the time though), Spanish/ Portugese/ Jamacan/ Indian beer is good, Ozzie/ Yankie beer is a shame to thier nations (at least what is exported). Ireland is good for cider/ stout. England is good for cider/ Ale.

The Germans dont just make the best beer, they prohibit the brewing of bad beer by law. Just have to give em this one.

Erdinger has been my choice of beer lately. The white labeled one is my favourite, but the kristalklar isn't bad either. But in most bars I can't get it so I go for draught Beck's or Harp. Guiness varies from place to place, but if I know it's good I may have a pint. Bottled Miller is also acceptable, if there's nothing else availble. Budwieser (The American one) is never aceptable.

OK I'll figuratively take the maybe and the question mark out of my statement, as I have heard alot of compelling evidence for the superiority of German beer.:)

The Heinekens they sell here in the states isn't the same beer, not even close. It's like they throw a Heineken label on a Budweiser, it's that bad.

-What does a boat and American beer have in common?
-They're both close to water

:p

Ah, but the Chech one is good.

Yeah, add add the Chechs to the good beer countries list.

There's no option for "beer is goddamn nasty."

its an acquired taste, just like black coffee.

i didnt like beer the first few times i drank it either (mustve been 12 at the time), but later on i liked it more and more, and now i love it.

Quite right, that why I specificied the American one as being crap. The Czech one is a fine drink.

Of the fairly widely distributed beers I prefer Newcastle Brown Ale.

A fine tipple, if somewhat of an image problem. My only problem with it is that if I want something that heavy, Ill more than likly go for a Guinness.

GinandTonic:
Don't get me wrong. Guinness is also a very good beer. I have to go Guinness every once in a while as well. Guinness is just too heavy sometimes.

My Irish side generally detests drinking English beer, but then again at least I'm drinking. The Irish side loves drinking, especially in large quantities, and is willing to forego the dreaded reality that Newcastle is made in England. However, if there's some Smithwicks around, I'm more than happy to go that route as well.

I like mostly German beers, many different types.

-Beck's ---->Personal Favourite
-Bitburger
-Frueh Koelsch
-Paulaner Hefeweizen -->One of my personal favourites
-Erdinger

just to name a few.

I think the option for "other" should have been included in the poll.

Edit: to include Guinness and Imperial, although these are obviously not German.

Since we're talking about beer the adult version by Monty Python is better:-

What's the difference between American beer and making love in a canoe?

Nothing they're both f*****g close to water.:D

Belgian for me. Chimay.

Pacifico over Corona too.
I had a Goose Island Honker's Ale last night. Local brew.
