When are you putting your Christmas tree up?

after a few weeks, water alone isn't going to keep it from losing needles. I wouldn't want to light candles on a tree that's been cut 4 weeks ago :)
Candles?!? For the love of fire safety! Why in gods name would you light candles on any tree, live or dead?? I mean I know they used to do that back in the 1600s, but that's why they invented electric lights... so you don't have to risk burning your house down just to decorate a Christmas tree.:xmascheers:
I was disappointed in the tree lights we bought - the blues are really muted and dull - so I bought some new LED ones from Magnavox. They're amazing and they really pop! I also bought some suction cups to hang them on our windows because the painter's tape I tried to use to hang them wouldn't hold.

When does everyone plan on taking down their decorations? In the past I was pretty militant about taking them down the day after Christmas but since we got a late start this year, we're leaving it up until New Years.
I start taking stuff down the day after New Years Day, with a worst case deadline of Martin Luther King Day (third week of January) to have absolutely everything down, interior and exterior. Lately I've been trying to get everything down the first week of the year.

I've never taken anything down before New Year's Day... but in the past when I would wait until the last minute to put the decorations up, I would be reluctant to take anything down because I hadn't had enough time to enjoy them. A couple of times I've been that guy taking his decorations down at Easter :mischief:

That turtle has an extremely bemused expression on its cute little face.

Boxing Day at least, so as to show it off to the post-Christmas company we always got. I preferred to leave it up until New Year's Day - since I'm the one who did the decorating, I wanted to be able to enjoy looking at it.

I haven't bothered this year, though I did take advantage of a craft sale. I bought a couple of downloadable patterns for 3-D Christmas trees that wouldn't take very long to stitch.

If I can find any canvas and yarn to make it, that is. I found the needles and scissors and knives. This will probably be a project for next year. This year I might actually just draw a picture and tape it up somewhere.

Nah, amadeus is probably Orthodox.
