^ That's one of those movies that leaves an impression on everyone.
The 97 version had a stellar cast appear and should be watched just for that, but the black-n-white version hit's harder.

I think I saw the remake in high school, or at least part of it: I know I recognized Tony Danza. I missed Gandolfini, though: he wasn't on my radar until I started watching The Sopranoes in the mid 2000s.

There's also Armin Mueller-Stahl, who was in like 100 movies in the 90s. Probably most memorably in Shine.
Apparently he is still alive (at 94).
