Well, this is supposed to be my first poll, a deep thought one. :D

Which Monthy Python movie is the best? Holy grail, (the clip-clopping coconuts makes me nuts!, Life of brian, Meaning of life? any other?

Just vote, and explain why you think is the best one.

Poll is comming... (Let's see if I can make it)

WOW: I just saw the poll and 100 % of the people who voted so far said that Meaning of Life is the best. :woohoo:

I prefer The Quest for the Holy Grail. Mostly because I love the medieval theme, and I think it has the craziest humour of the three. Life of Brian was a bit too ordinary(still great, though), and Meaning of Life seemed a bit inconsistent, and some of the scenes were a bit drawn out(the follow the waiter scene for example - which was even longer in the original cut:crazyeye: )

However, the material in the Flying Circus shows is often much better than that of the movies, and there are countless sketches much more memorable than the ones generally known through the 3 movies.

Life of Brian, Holy grail is good but LoB has more jokes per minute and is generally a bigger laugh. To be honest though there's not a huge amount in it.

Don't sweat it Urederra my first pole was what would you do in the event of alien attack

My university had a really beat up copy of Holy Grail that got shorter every year because of splicing. Whole jokes started to get cut, but everyone in the audience would say the lines anyway. People went as knights, we all had coconuts and some of my friends even brought a shrubberry (with a nice picket fence). It was by far the most fun.

Just a taste for the uninitiated, the Lego version of the "Camelot" song:

Yeah, they had to keep it short and to the point in the Holy Grail 'cause Graham Chapman was on the sauce.
Drinking about a litre of gin everyday, he just couldn't remember long lines and as Arthur he was almost always in front of the camera.:crazyeye::vomit:

He sobered up for Life of Brian.:)

I'm probably the only being in existance that's never seen any Monty Python.

Not quite, if you include babies but yes you're essentialy right, there is a remote tribe of indians in the Amazon region, who I believe it was discovered recently have only seen a few episodes from the first series. I can't speak for ET though. :)

It's the Holy Grail by a medieval mile.

Think of ANY section of that film and it's immediately quotable and hilarious. ANY section. Go ahead, I dare you.

Oh and go check out Spamalot in the theatre too. It's cringeworthy broadway style stuff but it rips the piss out of the format at the same time and brings you many of the magical moments of the filmic Grail.

PS. Congrats on holding it together to get the poll done Urederra. Props dude, props.

Which one made use of Mattise type art cut and paste? Was that Holy Grail?

I didn't expect myself to laugh so hard in Holy Grail, but I did. A brilliant piece of art.

I was told it's made for Americans, and is American humour.

Nah it's made for English and Canadians and Australians etc, oddly alot of Americans just don't get it. Someones been telling you porkies.

EDIT: thinking about it it's a student thing too.
