And the nats were (in the playoffs) 5-0 in elimination games and came from behind in all 5.

Season 2 of Jack Ryan was ridiculous

Fall television so far: There are several shows that are eminently watchable, but nothing truly gripping. I read a review of Stumptown that tried to make a case for it being the season's first great show, but I wasn't convinced. For me, New Amsterdam is leading the pack, followed by Stumptown. If the world were a just place, Halt and Catch Fire would be starting its 6th season right now. And when does The Magicians come back?

Can't stop watching:
*tumbleweeds*

Digging it:
New Amsterdam season 2, 6 episodes

Fine, until something better comes along:
Stumptown, 6 episodes
The Rookie
season 2, 6 episodes
Jack Ryan
season 2, 3 episodes
Emergence, 6 episodes
Treadstone, 3 episodes

Slipping through my fingers:
Evil, 4 episodes
Supergirl season 5, 5 episodes

Dumped:
Batwoman, 2 episodes

Binged watched about 6 episodes of the expanse this weekend s3e2-s3-e8. All I can say is thank god I've read the books or I would be totally clueless about the Mao daughter story line. Either I was in the bathroom and missed the explanation or they didn't mention it at all.

I know what you mean. Her introduction felt kind of abrupt, and her storyline didn't seem tethered to anything else. Other shows have had seemingly-unrelated characters or stories that you anticipate being woven into the main story later - I'm thinking of The Saint of Killers in Preacher and BTK in Mindhunter - but for some reason hers felt especially discombobulating. Maybe it was because the show hadn't really done that before, so it was jarring.

I mean what? The whole first season is Miller chasing down Mao? How is her story line discombobulated?

sprinkled with occasional The Crown episodes on Netflix.

What a great show about Queen Elizabeth's family. :)
The Doctor plays her husband, and that Chernobyl scientist plays her dad.
"Don't you matronize me!"
That stuff is gold.

Tommy the Private Secretary is a national treasure.
He's like a British, serious version of Ron Swanson.

John Lithgow has a good turn playing a very aged Churchill, the Arch-Conservative of conservatives.

Did they ever say she was a Mao in the show when they first showed her? That's why I asked if they explained it. She just showed up and they were calling her by her alias, and didn't explain her mouth click trick before she used it and how it affected her, during and after. If I hadn't read the books, I would have had no clue.

Oh Clarissa. Yea they show her with Julie being all *****y about how Julie is disrespectful to their father. The hormone click thing in her mouth I’m not sure if they cover or not. I don’t think so. There is certainly no scene set on earth where she murders a bunch on gangsters like in the books.

Thx, I must have been dozing during the Clarissa Julie scene. Did they specify that her target was Holden or are we not supposed to know that yet?
Still needed more background, but thank god for the books.

Books are always superior.

Yea I think it’s pretty clear that she hates Holden. The real problem is the put like a whole book into three episodes at one point if I recall. Still best TV out there right now imo.

Yeah, I've been entertained. I've gotten into all original casting that I wasn't comfortable with at the beginning. The only one I'm still having a problem with is the Security chief on the Behemoth. I didn't picture him as a pirate.

It does not deserve any academy award but I am enjoying it.
Not liking it is much as I liked Lost, The Wire or GoT, but definetively I consider it entertaining
I'm only 4 episodes into season 2, but I'm liking it so far. I've been watching Treadstone simultaneously, and can't help seeing them in parallel.

Finished yesterday Jack Ryan's season 2.
Entertaining, the end is hardly crebible though

It was like a 'murican wet dream at the end. I really liked it until the last episode when all the sudden the american operatives turned into super soldiers. I'd still watch another season, but I like the realistic feel of semi successful operations that dominated the show up until the last episode.
