Tough call. I mean, given the choice, those are probably the last two states I would ever choose (which I guess is why they are the choices.)

I actually think ND would a very nice place to live :)

I'm a city boy, and ND is empty, cold and gray. I'd man up and move to Misissippi

north dakota over mississippi any day of the week. yes, ND is sparsely populated, but what's the point of being surrounded by more people in Miss. when most of those people are products of incest. ;)

The biggest city in Mississippi is like 300,000 people or so. The biggest ND city can't be that much smaller . . .

according to wikipedia, the largest city in ND us fargo, which has a population of 90,599. if you look at the map, it is the closest possible they could shove it to MN

ND simply because it isn't Mississippi. I guess if you have low self esteem you can move to Mississippi to feel good about yourself.

Yeah, but I can drive to a bigger one outside of Mississippi. I'll live on the border :)

ND - i think Miss. would be WAY too hot for me, plus, i think ND has beautiful scenery

So? It touches Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

I consider that a minus.
Hehe, true.

Are you kidding? The upper Great Plains region can get VERY hot in the summer. And VERY cold in the winter.
I guess you're right, and I guess Miss. gets fairly cold in the middle of winter. But ummmm..... is right.

North Dakota.

By the way, I'm fairly certain Washington D.C. is #1 in terms of areas in the continental U.S. so far as low literacy rates go.
According to the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition, Miss. has the highest rate of illiteracy. But maybe they don't count D.C., or it's changed in the last year or so, or something.

But regardless of whether they're #1 or not, they're certainly doing pretty well! ;)

Mississippi. I'm sick of the cold weather!

  • no need for central heating

This is my selling point. But Mississipi ... so many drawbacks. I would move to one of these and then go to AZ/NM/TX maybe NV but nowhere near Vegas.

North DA-ko-TA but not by much. it's my "homeland"

ND is VERY hot in the summer, you need AC! don't be fooled by the poster, i lived right next door in east grand forks, MN (home of the green wave!) for my first 12 years. life without air conditioning sucked, i still remember the day when we got the air conditioner...:) :) :)

On the contrary, the federal employees (being literate, usually) may actually be raising the literacy rate.

well, not if you look all the way to the top ;)
