While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

Really Karalysia? I could have sworn it was you who posted Neptune's Pride in this forum last year.

Maybe the players involved would like to do reports every few days on how they're doing? I'll do that, at least, if no one else does. It might put me at a bit of a disadvantage, but I have an advantage in experience at this game, so it should balance out.

Is this game like.. a Space-Version of Tribal Wars?

Well, I remembered how crappy I am at doing games that require lots of daily play and scheduling and suchlike :( but assuming you people do manage to get an AAR going I would be most entertained

The way the game is set up, you can log in for 10 minutes and set up your actions for the next three days. It's pretty intuitive too.

The Autarchy of Fomalhaut reports that the Autarchal fleets are expanding in every direction with maximal success. All hail the Autarch.

Popped in to a quick free game, amused by the opening buys of the other players. One managed to purchase two extra science labs. My growth is restricted by two 0.5 gulfs, leaving me just single-star corridors of advancement to the north and east, but I'm backed up in a corner and feel secure enough to blow most of my starting money on eco, which is almost always the best move.

Daft Panzer introduced it MONTHS ago :D! I love it, although I can only log on about 3 times a day. (once at schoo, once right after schoo, once in the evening).

I would have won one where I killer blitz-backstab-destroyed someone, but didn't get to launch the reinforcement due to a vacation and found my entire fleet was lost over a week's worth of counter attacks,

Words of warning. ;)

Raku Contemplating Galactic Dominance

Raku, Sub-Oligarch 12 of the Talithan Ascendancy, sclorfed his gelatinous body, tentaculous body through the bent pillars of his Command Temple. Four mismatched eyes stared in deep focus at the starmap.

"Blago. Bring up the economic overlay."

"Certainly, Master."

The assistant gingerly took the interface out of Raku's tentacle, pressed a button, then handed it back.

"Hmm."

There was a brief pause.

"Well, economic development across the core territories is going as well as hoped, and industrial development remains on par. Our fleets continue their outward spread, and the first Ascendant Expansion Sphere will be secured in a matter of hours. However..."

The pause resumed.

"Yes?" asked Blago, pulsating nervously.

"Our treasury... we have just successfully seized control of some of the richest planets yet known, and we have..."

"Seven Galactobucks."

"SEVEN GALACTOBUCKS? I couldn't even buy myself an Ascendant Slaguccino for that little, let alone subsidize the economic development of an uninhabited world never before seen by sentient eyes!"

"It- it's not that much more expensive, and Slaguccinos are ridiculously overpriced as it is-"

"NO! I will not have you speak ill of the holy beverage, you Ascendant Idiot. What we have here is a complete failure to account for the fact that, before the start of the next economic cycle, we would have a huge pile of new, virgin worlds requiring the construction of thousands of new Temples and Slagoplexes."

"If it's a-any consolation Master, the new structures on Sadr are really quite lovely-"

"BUT THEY COST FOUR TIMES AS MUCH TO BUILD THERE!"

"I'm afraid there's nothing we can do.

Raku slumped. Inside, he knew that Blago was right- not that he'd ever admit it.

"Fine. Begone."

"At least we've got the new trade pact worked out-"

"Get out!"

"I just hate seeing you upset like this, your tentacles will go purple before your third birthday at this rate-"

"Oh shut up! Go ascend yourself."

"I will do that master."

Looks interesting, count me as an interested party for the future.

Alright, shall we pick a time to meet on #nes to organize our mass invasion of a public game? 2200 EDT seems like a workable time for most people in North America, although it would be a bit early for Daft. Does that time present conflicts for anyone?

Only person who's banned from #nes on anything approaching a permanent basis is pasi, as I've said plenty of times.

Birdy, that statement is about as accurate as saying that the NESing forum is run by geriatrics as an individual fiefdom. ;)
Well, I'm pretty sure your post is true. I am pretty old; NESing is my fiefdom since matrix rarely shows up. You all are just lucky that I abdicate most of my responsibilities to you all while I sojourn in Provence and Majorca while living off taxes collected from overburdened peasants. :p

Only person who's banned from #nes on anything approaching a permanent basis is pasi, as I've said plenty of times.
Probably a good idea most of the time.

Such a time is fine for me, but say my name a lot if I'm unresponsive on #nes to get my attention...eventually.

Again, I'm not willing to commit to playing.

It's not a commitment, it's just a list showing those who have stated interest. :)
