Greetings everyone. I could very possibly return. Give me a sitrep someone. What's new? What's cool? What's dead? How is the old population?

The elderly (not old) population urges you to join Battle for Wesnoth NES. :p

Anyways, always great to see an oldie return. :)

Whoa wait LINESIII? What happened to II?

LINESIII is stillborn? NOOOOO. I just thought it was sleeping :(

The parrot is sleeping sir, I assure you. Just having a very nice, quiet little nap. Nothing to worry yourself over.

What is the best way to determine the result of an election in a NES? How do other mods do it? Arbitrarily, or with an element of chance? So far, in my NES, I've been throwing a dice and allocating most of the sides to the most popular candidate, but I suspect that better ways may have been developed.

Be judgemental, not arbitrary! You control the NPCs, so you have final and absolute say as to who wins and who doesn't, but think about how certain actions and occurrences (which may be random) would affect the supporters of all sides and the undecided.

I'm sorry, I can't say that I understand the appeal of this video.

The point is that the premise of the video is ridiculous, the music is ridiculous, the clip is ridiculous therefore the execution of the premise is equally ridiculous. It's so fail it's fun. Danish humour.

Hey, just wanted to say that on the 16, I will be headed off on a two-week family vacation. I hope that nothing important happens while I'm gone! But, before I'm headed off, I will still be posting on these forums (especally in NESing).

I need a player for the Demoites, an important elite populist faction in my NES that 1stcitizen has just vacated.

Why did you kill off scaramooshe, not npc them as i asked?

It was easier, but the merchants are still alive and they are perfectly willing to band together again if you want them back. I don't want to have to NPC criminals because I want it to be the case that the players can blame each other if organised crime breaks out in the city. There's no real interest in having an NPC scapegoat for everything that goes wrong.

I downloaded obtained several encyclopedic volumes on history...I am finally getting some kind of general education on pointy stick eras and beyond. Electrical engineering has taken it's toll on my historical knowledge.

When would this game be launched?
 You may not know this, but Abaddon is working his way around the world from NZ to England and if I announced that I was starting a new NES instead of reviving BirdNES 3, I'm sure he would find a way to get to New Mexico and give me "what for" in some brutal manner.

In any case, my plan is to revive that game first before starting a new one. At the moment I do not have time to run any game in the manner it deserves. But if someone wants to try a Dies the Fire game i will gladly help with rules and stats etc. to get it rolling.

Serious history has definitely fallen out of favor among mods recently, in favor of more "gamey" fare. If you (or someone else) decided to do a detailed althist, particularly if it was early-industrial, you PROBABLY wouldn't lack for players.
