However, Asia seems to be only beginning to heat up, and there are a few European factions that are yet to waste their offensive potential.

Blah. The only war will emerge if Silver decides to go and attack people....

...........

Yeah, we'll be at war soon enough.

Would be good.. all those different indian nations are annoying.

Tensions vary, there is a mad race to claim, but it won't be until those claims are more than flags on spherical chunks of mineral and whatnot that serious danger will develop.
Ehm. Now that germanicus is back and making noises at Disen, it might just develop none the less. :p

Yes, but he's also run out of room to grow :p

The USC yawns at the rash of pointless defensive pacts in NiNES and wonders aloud who everyone thinks they're defending themselves from with such needless entanglements, when it's proven (see also: World War I) that such things only lead to wars.

Well, Kalia and I were just formalizing the current state of affairs between us. And neither of us are particularly aggressive nations, so at worst we'll escalate a defensive war.

I wouldn't call it "escalation" if the aggressor gets pounded twice as fast ;)

...assuming such is possible, of course...:mischief:

We entered the defensive agreement with emergents, and are just trying to insure we won't come into conflict with the others the Emergents have defensive pacts with.

Remaining without an ally can easily be just as dangerous

Ah, but attacking me means attacking the only truly humanspace-wide legitimate legal and administrative body. In case you didn't get the memo, I'm the good guys--I am the UNPCS. That makes doing so about as advisable as... oh, invading Switzerland.

Which is also precisely the reason I am remaining neutral.

AFAIK the UNPCS is still autonomous to some extent...unless that changed when you moved your capitol to Sol.

To me you'll always be a corporate manipulator :p

I will give you guys a hint. My coming update the first official one in my NES is entitled.

The Years of the Khagan

Well then you ain't the UNPCS
Right. You keep thinking that. See where it gets you. :)

I think you just lost the respect your Red Alert avatar gained you in my eyes :)
Who cares for the respect of some Atreides scum anyway? :p YOUR ANCESTORS COULDN'T EVEN HOLD ARRAKIS WITHOUT FREMEN! FAILURE!

And Westwood royally screwed up the family crest (and blue was never an Atreides color). But I digress.

How much influence does Shuurai Heavy Industries still have on your nation? If it's even more profitable now than it was in the past, then it must be filthy rich and powerful.

Hell if I know. I stopped writing about them when I switched over. In game? No more than any two Keiretsu do in Japan today probably. Sol's reconstruction and other efforts have probably exceeded their ability to monpolize in terms of work required and their fragmentation would make it more difficult to coordinate, meaning there are likely strong and rising comeptitors. Odds are it's richer, more flexible, and more adaptive, though that would chiefly be a consequence of simple economic growth and less overhead. And it's not a monopoly anymore.

From my perspective? Zero, because the only one running the USC is me, and I am my own lobbyist group. :p

EDIT: Which you just changed anyways

The Urkin Empire is far superior to the USSR. This is truth.

I think Symphony is starting to recycle his avatars though :mischief:
