It can last for a while. The question is if it will remain intact, and I think the obvious answer is "no". Abkhazia and South Ossetia are already independent in all but name by now anyway.

Who doesn't want to see Russia get a second Afghanistan? I bet Georgia already has received serious behind the table US funding.

Personally I'm more interested on the military side of things. Considering that both finland and georgia pretty much rely on reserves in their military it will be interesting to know how well georgian conspricts can fight off the russians until the eventual collapse.

Honestly if the Canadians are digging up Shale Oil it can't be that bad (it will also get more enviromentally friendly if you let the technology develop...)
