While We Wait: Writer's Block & Other Lame Excuses

I would like to implement this, but then most wars, or peace treaties, or trade agreements or religious pacts or much anything ever happened. :p
Put it in the rules. The thread is basically for publicizing information to a given player's advantage, or for convenience, or for post-count. If it were for orders, then all of somebody's orders should be in the thread, not just the diplomacy.

I'd even be okay with posting a treaty in the thread, then linking to it in orders. But if there's no reference in the orders at all, it didn't happen. Screw the consequences. Put your foot down.

actually Birdjaguar is there a way for a mod to insert a post into that thread (as first post)? I really really need it as an index...
Should be fixed now.

Clear and concise orders are the best sort of orders, so I don't add a whole lot of flavorful text and try to get right to the chase most of the time.

That's good.

Of course, it helps a lot you usually do "All EP into X" and the flavor helps digesting why X is so important.

I think it depends on the mod. Some mods don't like having detail, other's value detail over simplicity. I think that a mix is right. I don't want the player sending me a novel for each order (looking at LoE) but I don't really want so little on the orders that I have to guess as to what they actually mean. When it comes to warplans, details are essential, but you need the right kind of details.

I too will look at LoE on that note.

LOE harkens back to a great and ancient tradition of gargantuan order sizes.

I agree.

They are so juicy, succulent, and brain-destroying big. (undeniably good plans in the most part, too!)

Sometimes, I read them just to enjoy them, and then just do the update with some nods to his deeper plan. If I try to acknowledge all his plans, my update will be the size of an Encyclopedia. :p

Sometimes detail is good :(

They are good.

Personally, what I would really like if you took all your details, rewrote them a bit, and publish them in thread. :) A "Chronicles of the Rise of the Buertgang" or the "Secrets of the Empire of the Faith" or something like that.

Maps are always good for troop movements and grand strategies, correct?

It is funny when players have far more extensive orders than their profile in the game thread would suggest. ;)

EDIT: Maps in orders are awsome.

It can happen, although I sometimes find such players to be kind of annoying, as I think their efforts would often be better spent enriching the thread, rather than serving as resources to the moderator and the moderator alone.

If you want maps, I need to care.

I actually don't mind the organization of your last few INES orders. So there.

Yes, it is somewhat frustrating. But not just for me, come the next turn of my game.

Goddamnit Imago, you can take insult from nothing.

Worded badly. You can never be insulted, ever. I like you.

Maps in orders are, indeed, awesome.

Gem Hound you actually send very good orders overall.

Maps are in MY orders, hehe.

Wasn't actually aimed at you, if I ever conducted a major military campaign (hopefully I won't, I'm being mostly peaceful) you'd probably get them.
