Let's do this.

It's as if that happened, or something.Arya, even if rejected, should have been given an overview of his mistakes and thus a chance to hit the books and prove that HE wants to play. If not, he can understand or decide that this nes is too far above him at this stage and sit out.
Can't we have a reasonable NESer or two elevated to be a mod alongside BJ to act as a counterweight in this sort of situation?
Thanks for bringing it upIt's as if that happened, or something.
stazNES XI has been shut down because the majority rejected being saddled with behavior that was clearly not suited for the game. This is the forceful imposition of minority rights on the majority "or else." We should not be forced to accept somebody or "deal with" their behavior if we do not want to, which is indeed, as I continue to point out, a general organizing principle of this forum's layout.
Instead, our rights are being trampled as punishment for daring to have a certain kind of fun in mind. It's very "my way or the highway" on the part of moderation and frankly resembles nothing so much as a hissy fit thrown by someone who views themselves as a tutting adult, and the forum membership as children in need of a time out.
Not did I think you were elitist, merely uncharacteristically blunt. I haven't spoken about other facets of the issue yet, nor will I until after I finish reading that entire thread.@angst & terrance, I will not tolerate being painted as some exclusionist elitist. That's never been what I have been about. I also don't want to see the time and effort other people put into something I'm running (which takes a measure of trust on their part, especially with MY reputation) debased or wasted because some individual neser doesn't "get it".
And in a given game, as the "mod" I get to decide who does and does not "Get it". It's not rocket science and I'm not going to have a debate about it. I'll save my eloquence for the senior mods who will inevitably have to clean up the mess, one way or another.
As long as we have a NESer modding the forum and not some outsider who butts in because he/she thinks they are entitled to do so.
I also want to point out that the historical method of "exclusion," given that this activity has been going on for a decade now, is ganging up on and murdering the offensive party as quickly as possible and making their experience generally miserable such that they quit or learn. In other words: hazing.
As long as we have a NESer modding the forum and not some outsider who butts in because he/she thinks they are entitled to do so.
Can't we have a reasonable NESer or two elevated to be a mod alongside BJ to act as a counterweight, or to act as a helpful sourse of a second opinion for him, in this sort of situation?
