Impartiality only fulfills its symbolic value if it's truly at the utmost level of power. Iggy's the only clear choice for that. I have no particular concern as to who is Op or HOp below that. Both extant channels also have ugly history and the only clean break with the past would come from dispensing with both, not one in preference for another.

The only hope for lasting unity is a fresh start in total disregard of the past.
 
There have been absolutely no abuses of power within #neverending. To say the way that channel is run is anything like #nes is contrary to its very purpose.

I would refuse to be part of any channel where the following people had op/hop: Symphony D., flyingchicken, Kraznaya, and Dachs.

OP status should only be given to a few people and founder to only one. Hops should never be handed out as favors or to form cliques--as they had in #nes--and definitely should not be given without channel consensus.
 
#neverending exists as the anti-#nes clique. Your statement is prima facie absurd. You yourself have routinely dismissed actions undertaken or points made by #nes membership for the exclusive reason of regarding the entirety of #nes as a collective opposed to your existence. You exhibit a siege mentality. Your inability to let bygones be bygones and move on, such as threatening refusal to even consider being in a channel with mixed operators, demonstrates an ongoing victimization complex that you are unwilling to let go of for the sake of communal unity.

"I am in favor of reconciliation but only on my terms," is not negotiation or honest debate.

Just like Crezth, you are also part of the problem. You are the Reapers.
 
Victim complex is easy to push aside for people who didn't experience years of abuse in said channel. I couldn't care less about community friendship or letting bygones be bygones. I refuse to be put under the boot of people who have repeatedly abused their powers on not only me but the entire community. It is an opening for further abuse based on your perceptions of why the community is split. I will not be mistreated based on being part of the group that left. It is time to clean house. The only way this community would ever be able to mend fully would be to drop people such as yourself from power positions. Until such a time as you admit your wrongdoings and they admit theirs in regards to the original schism, nothing shall be done on my part to assist in this folly. I would sooner remove myself from the IRC branch of my hobby than allow such grave mistreatment to continue.
 
I think Luckymoose is unreasonable but I must put out there that I understand him perfectly fine. He hasn't been treated particularly well - a treatment which wasn't particularly deserved either - by the #nes crowd.

That said, I see no reason to seed or preserve any more resentment.
 
Considering the only time I had an op kick me for no reason in #nes was by one of the #neverending founders, I don't really see where they are coming from...

And considering I never had any sort of op, I never bullied anyone.

And if anyone want to say my anti-Luckymoose is bullying, well he should think twice before being an antisemitic blah. But yes he was being mistreated in #nes. When I was mistreated there once, I stopped coming, completely, until the one who mistreated me was no longer there.

This is a ridiculous argument akin to an extremely militant feminist arguing that because women have been the victims of patriarchy since the dawn of civilization, women should be allowed to dominate men for the next 5000 years in reprisal. I was a victim of persecution by a section of this community from 2007-2008, with dedicated haters who followed me from thread to thread. I'm not demanding special treatment. I'm not demanding accommodation. Why are you? You're not entitled to any.

Ah, yes, because you have never engaged in questionable behavior yourself? All you're doing is demanding. What are you offering? Why is this exercise only one of taking, rather than also of giving? You claim to have never wanted to occupy a position of power, yet you seem so extremely reticent to give yours up.

You clearly don't have it in you to forgive and forget. You are an impediment to the peace process.
 
Luckymoose doesn't want power either. He didn't say he will keep his position either.

How about NO PARTISAN gets any power, whatsoever. That's cool with me. You guys can /ignore each other, Iggy's benevolent dictatorship will promote toleration, and I can finally discuss stuff without fear of Crezth banning me just so I get annoyed when my computer crashes.

So you want to remain in power over me? Ha, never. It is more akin to maintaining a dictatorship in opposition to the community's wishes. I have never said I was perfect and because of that I have never wanted authority over you or any one else in a chatroom setting. Why is it that you deserve authority? Why is it that Kraznaya, Dachs or fc deserve authority? You're all abusive and have demonstrated it time and time again for years. The only way to keep things civilized is to remove people such as ourselves from any power position, period. That doesn't mean I want to be in a chatroom with said people, however.

I never said any of this and in fact am on record within the past two pages of saying completely the opposite multiple times. Keep your strawmen to yourself.

You clearly want both sides to have people in charge. I do not. I am entitled to accommodation based on being highly active and in no position of power. The thing is, Symphony, you're only going to prevent mending by holding on to your old order. The schism was caused by that old order. They need to be purged from power.
