Why are patriarchy haters so protective of Islam?

I'm also chuckling to myself the apparent incongruity between the "trolling is a threat to democracy" line and the doctrinaire view of freedom of speech expressed in your sig. But then again, in your view, I'm probably an irrational threat to democracy because I enjoy trolling Nazis and white supremacists.

There's no incongruity there because I never said you shouldn't be allowed to troll Nazis, just that I find trolling for the sake of trolling to be unhealthy behavior. Remember, one of the key tenets of the concept of free speech is that I may not like the things you say, but I won't try to stop you from saying it.

I support German style forced integration, and Japan style citizen test

If you refuse to conform you remain a non citizen, have reduced social services and subject to be Dublined ruled to Greece. If you conform and integrate you get come carrots like more benefits, fast track to jobs as a non-eu citizen. Japanese have a tough test, along with pressure to conform.

Both countries are tolerant of religion freedom, but only to a certain extent

Aren't those countries having problems with population decline?

Fits right in with the tread title though.
What - that I said the post makes no sense, or that I can be deported for being Canadian?

I'm reminded of some idiotic thing someone posted at me the other day on CBC.ca. The article was about some of the senators who are actively opposing the legislation passed by the House to change the lyrics of "O Canada" from the sexist form to a gender-neutral form. I was told:
This anthem was created by people, who considered themselves Christian.

Don't come here and try to hijack our Canadian heritage!
Some people are apparently full of assumptions. I'm not using my real name on that site, but it didn't occur to me that someone would mistake me for a non-Canadian... unless the person who wrote that just thinks that anyone who wants to make the anthem gender-neutral can't possibly be Canadian.

I'm tempted to put another joke here... Perhaps better not.

This anthem was created by people, who considered themselves Christian.

Reminds me of the 'God with us' (or 'God with US'?) and the 'one nation under God' slogans. The Founding Fathers weren't particularly Christian either. (Slave owners, sure.)

Surely atheists must be un-Canadian... It's the Devil made ' em do it.

That seems like a gross overstatement of a diverse group of men ranging from doctors and layers to ordained ministers and church laymen.

David Holmes argued that there were three basic grouping of the American Founders, those that embraced the Enlightenments heavy religious criticism, those who remained in the contemporary religious tradition, and those who were various shades of Diesm (the unifying feature of which was a general acceptance of basic Christian teachings while questioning the more supernatural aspects).

Most contemporaries were more likely to attribute sectarian rather than anti-religious characteristics to the Revolution: the Tory press described it as a "Presbyterian rebellion", owing to the strength of Yankee and Scots-Irish support for the Patriot cause, both of whom were noted for their hostility to bishops, which in the imagination of High Church Anglicans naturally implied republican and generally seditious inclinations.

The secular Revolution was largely invented after the fact, to some extent by its participants, to some extent by historians who were uneasy with the often very public religiosity of their forefathers.

No, but you can put them in camps.

Hear me out. We'll wait until they're dying and senile. They'll have medical care, and three meals a day. There will be air conditioned rooms. There will be TV and ping pong, and lots of windows. Occasional visits from volunteers who can't stop death but they can play cards. We can completely forget about them and their problems. Once they're gone, we'll take all their loot.
Hey wait a second...

I have one condition: that we only deport white boomers.
That's overly broad; I would miss my grandma's pineapple upside down cake.

Not a cool turn of conversation, guys. :nono:

You're talking about people who are actually forum members (yes, there are some here).

We're also totally kidding, or at least I was. No one is going to deport white boomers, keep your hair on.

Boomerang them there, even.

I was arguing from what they did, not from what they were. The original US constitution provides for a clear separation of church and state, and makes no special provisos fro people being Christian. In short, it was a non-Christian constitution, giving no preference to any particular denomination. I' not sure how more neutral you can get.
