Wildmana 7.6 Development Thread

I've read the civpedia on corporations, but I'm still missing some basic understanding for the WildMana implementation. Maybe this is in the pedia but I haven't found it. I know that house "support" is important, but I don't know what the numbers in the advisor page mean:
  • Support
  • Support modifier
  • Estimated
What are these? What is "good" and what is "bad" for each of these terms? How do I know if I'm in any danger of house revolution?

Support range is between 10000 (good) and 0 (bad) In Advisor Screen it is displayed as 100-0

Support modifier: higher is better, has no direct consequences though
Estimated: estimated turns till a Revolution if nothing is done to increase support (currently works only for House Ghallanda though)

Thanks Selphi!

On a totally different topic, I wonder if you might be willing to implement the "non-disappointing unique features" as in Orbis (maybe from FF, I'm not sure). Basically, when an explorable unique feature is explored (e.g., Bradaline's Well), it changes to "Bradaline's Well (Explored)" (different UF in XML but with same graphics). The Explored unique feature upgrades back to the original feature after a lot of turns (about 200 iirc, but I'd lower that to 100).

The re-exploration adds a nice feature, but for me it is more of an aesthetic issue. It's really sad to see these features disappear from the map.

agreed with Pazyryk :)

also, a question related to that and the Elohim: they get purity from unique features, so I guess it includes the epic lairs. so you'd have to choose between keeping them intact and getting the purity, or exploring them to get the mana ( pyre of the seraphic ) . but then people you have open borders with can come in and explore them, spawning big baddies into your territory and taking away your purity-providing unique feature. is this correct? if so, then we really need unique features to stay around after they are explored

If this is done, please please make it scale with game speed. (mp-quick games)

Oops! "non-disappointing unique features" should be "non-disappearing unique features". Too much reliance on the spellchecker there. (But it kind of fits anyway.)

You can still get mana from lairs even if they are unexplored. Exploring them, though, lets you dispel and make a new type of mana.

And in Wildmana, you can't explore lairs in someone else's borders - even if you are at war, or the borders in question are barbarian. ;)

you're right, nice thought! :goodjob:

another question, do the Elohim also get improved Purity from the Guardian of Pristine Pass? I want to adjust the flavourstarts for WildMana, so that's something that would be useful to know ;)

please change Garrym Gyr's defender trait to something else like arcane, defender is useless for the luchuirp ( not that it's great for anyone else, btw ) , it makes him the luchuirp leader no one would ever want to use. :D

heh, I prefere him over the other base FFH leader any time. Defender is much better in the early game when the Luchuirp are weak. If anything, Defender trait might need a little tweak.

ALL improvements with bUnique set to true count for the Elohim purity counter.

okey-dokey then, I think I've got all the info I need. :goodjob: I'm going to tweak the flavourstart infos with Wild Mana in mind and post it after a bit of testing, so people who're interested can check it out and tell me if something seems off.

still on the topic of unique features, would be great to add in the new ones from Orbis/RifE, and some tweaks as well:

Bradeline's well gives entropy mana, changes its tile to hell terrain and can be sanctified by the elohim, then providing spirit mana.

Aifon Isle could give Water Mana.

Odio's Prison could give Body mana, right now it's pretty useless.

Seven Pines could give Force Mana.

couple more ideas, Nature's Revolt could set you at peace with animals, to make up for the fact that it no longer morphs barbarians into animals. Dragons could be their own civ, at peace with Mazatl, Kurios, Sheaim and Illians.

You forget about several UF's in RifE, though you say you want to steal them. :p

Rinwell Isle - Awesome art by Warkirby, can be claimed (as all Forts in Orbis and RifE), spawns demons until claimed, after a small grace period (upgrades, first form doesn't spawn anything)

Bair of Lacuna - Art by PL, requires a set level to enter, allows you to 'teleport' (Read: Air Drop) if the unit can gain access.

Tower of Eyes - Art by PL, essentially a super Ancient Tower. High defense, visibility, provides happiness. Wonder became the Cathedral of Tali; Free lighthouses.

I don't know if Wild Mana has Foxford or not, but that's from FF.

I didn't forget, I just didn't list them... those I listed are all from base FFH ;)

do the tower of eyes and blair of lacuna give mind and dimensional mana respectively? that would feel right :D

i understand the first part of your answer sephi, but what do you mean by 10chars?
