Workers of the World!

Plotinus... This thread and all your hard work has certainly sparked a great deal of posting...some of which is sort of related but some are off topic as is usual on most threads.

cometflash... Besides what Plotinus has already said, changing the .ini speed also requires to change the Sounds as well as the Flc Speeds for units so their animations and sounds will keep up the changed speed.

I just post this question, to try helping a user, that have comment about the worker rate running, being slow (a fill post back). So was not a personal question, it was only a question, because I wasn't sure about it.

I didn't think asking such of question in a new thread, could help the other user, so I ask it here. (I don't know the users name, and I'm in a slow connection, so I don't wanna go back to check;) ).
 
cometflash... I was not trying to imply that your questions were inappropriate or single you out. Just merely stating that more than not, Threads where Units are posted have a way of getting Off Track and become a sort of discussion of Off Topic ideas that would really be better posted elsewhere. There are many people that would be glad to discuss and or try and answer any questions concerning how and what to do to Modify a game.
...Because Plotinus has made and posted many Workers here and your questions are concerning workers, your posts fit ok. No Worries :)

I think it adds a nice diversity to the game...next up...replacing the medival workers (Worker_SLAVE_ERAS_Medival_Ages is how, just gotta figure out units)

[edit] @Cometflash: just make a back up copy of the INI, and keep it safe, then toy with the numbers until you figure it out...its really the only way to learn how things work :)
@Plot: any chance of a follow up unit to the "Chain Gang Worker"? A guy in Orange jumpsuit...possibly with a "civ color" and Green "High visibility vest" for highway work?...that way the chain gang guy can be industrial, and Mr County Jail can be Modern...

Also, since I noticed you did an amazon, what about a "Rosie the Riviter" for modern upgrade? a girl in a blue shirt, rolled up sleeves, and overalls(Or possibly a jumpsuit)...Bandana optional...

The only ones currently available are available only in Anno Domini - I haven't posted them otherwise. I intend to make more quite soon and release them all at once. I'm a bit behind schedule - I've just been finishing off a unit with Vuldacon that took longer than expected, and I have a couple more that I want to get done in the near future too. But at least I'm ahead of schedule with my doctoral thesis for once...

As promised, I've now made attack animations for the Prospector. There's a preview on the front page. Thanks to Vuldacon for the sounds...

:woohoo: Thanks, Plot! This guy will go in the FF mod as a "Citizen Milita" unit (available only to civs with a democratic govt). Attack is superb.
 
Just out of curiosity, is anyone ELSE planning on doing anything with the animations Plot provided?...Am I wrong in thinking that all that needs be done at this point, is to create a model, and adapt it to the provided animations??

This is alot of workers, but there are some small gaps that would be nice to see filled...such as: Modern MesoAmerican worker, Modern Polynesian Worker, Modern Native American Worker...I would like to see someone OTHER than Plot take some of these on(Plot has DONE his fair share), since I believe that was the point of releasing all the animations :)

Actually you don't even have to do that - the file I provided is not an animation file but a complete Poser file with the figure and props in place, so all anyone has to do is just dress the PDM in whatever outfit they want, and render. I haven't heard that anyone is planning to use it though...
