YnAMP - Yet (not) Another Maps Pack

YnAMP - Development thread Civ6

Thanks, but yes, I'll need save from the turn before the crash.

Excuse me guys, I want to ask this question again becasuse last time when I asked this question people just ignored me:

How to add another leader to a already existing civ?

I try to add another two leaders for China for the YnAMP Greatest earth map (to make the map more interesting to play).

Do you guys know how to do that? Thanks!

on greatest earth map makes the AI even dumber?tried on KING it's like they didn't know what to do they never expanded past one city?

Wrong mod, even we would love your leaders, you should ask the modders, who are building whole Civs, there is even one, who is building whole civs for this mod !

Any idea how to improve the spawn rate of barbarians (not camps)?
Less camps but more barbarians per camp would be good I guess.

Had my first crash since game launch playing as england in latest alpha turn 129 :cant get round it :(

This is the only mod I've downloaded but strangely when I went back over the path I got: Giant Earth Map - Greatest Earth Map by djvandyke (104x64). It gave me an option in the advanced set up for historical starting locations and after I manually selected civ's instead of leaving all the AI choices on the random setting, they all appeared.

You need to exit the game before starting a modded game. You even need to exit the game before starting another modded game, or city states may turn up in unexpected locations.

That's strange.

I've had no trouble on Giant Earth Map (230 x 115) at prince, king or emperor level.

The civs are doing fine: fighting amongst themselves, building multiple cities, attacking and
taking city states, exploring the whole world, developing science and culture, as I expected.

The only problem I found was that after I saved and asked to exit to desktop the game didn't respond.
Maybe it just wanted to play more and was sad to see me go to bed?

My tips:
Remove previous (alpha) versions; clear the cache, remove all previous saved games.
Make sure your computer has the grunt to handle extremely large maps and the number of civs.
Turn off Windows Defender.
Reduce video setting to as low as you can bear.

Hey, made an account just to drop in and ask for help :)

My girlfriend and I have downloaded & installed this map pack, but we're having a great deal of trouble with starting a game. We're trying to play a LAN game and we're simply unable to even join each other's game lobbies. The games show up in the LAN game list, but clicking on them does nothing and the 'Join Game' button remains greyed out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello, I want to make a suggestion for the Greatest earth map: move the start position of China to this spot:
<X>83</X>
<Y>49</Y>
Because if you look at google map, this spot is the true location of the city of Xi"an, the previous spot in the vanilla mod is not the spot for Xi'an, it is the spot for Beijing. Totally two different place.

Also, I suggest to move the start position of SCYTHIA to this spot:
<X>81</X>
<Y>59</Y>
Because in the map Europe is already very crowed, move SCYTHIA to the east will increase the playability of the whole game for eastern civilizations.

Also, historically SCYTHIA is a nomadic civ, it travels from the east to the west across the steppe very often, to place SCYTHIA in Europe is not true to history.

I might have missed it, but what is the difference between the rulesets? All the lights, mediums, and heavies have the same changes, so I know there has to be something different between the Earth, Euro, and Old World styles.

EDIT: Might be worth noting that I typically play random gens and not earth maps.

Playing on giant earth, 30 players, i am kinda late choosing a pantheon but, um, there are no pantheons to choose from and i am stuck, is it possible that the 30 guys before me chose all beliefs and there are none left for me?!?!? Can't progress past "choose a pantheon".

Sure thing! Here's a save from the crashing turn. It's on the Giant Earth Map on the alpha .6 version. Thanks a lot for looking into this! :)
Thanks, I'll have a look

Can you provide a saved game at the end of turn 128 please ?

Had a game in autoplay, old world rules, the whole old world (including Africa) was covered by cities in 1800 while Japan
and England had started to colonize the new world.

Less camps but more barbarians per camp would be good I guess.
See rule3.sql, there is a value that should control that, but I've not really tested it.

I know it works on internet, not sure what's the problem in LAN

I'll try to go back on the thread to check all the placement suggestions, I will blindly take as "good" any that have not received objections, so I'd like people to discuss each of those, noting:

- that I still have in the "to do" the city renaming based on position
- some Leaders starting position conflict with gameplay (Arabia/Egypt) while others are better for it (China)

I might have missed it, but what is the difference between the rulesets? All the lights, mediums, and heavies have the same changes, so I know there has to be something different between the Earth, Euro, and Old World styles.

There is a tooltip that should appears when you move the mouse pointer above the different choices of ruleset.

A question (or two) on the Greatest map (haven't tried out the Old World yet): Is Hongkong still on Taiwan instead of where it is on GEM? Would it be possible to add two entrances to Tibet (as in GEM)? It's a bit silly to have an area on the map which is totally inacessible (especially silly for Tibetans).

Also, historically SCYTHIA is a nomadic civ, it travels from the east to the west across the steppe very often, to place SCYTHIA in Europe is not true to history.

Well, if they are a civ, they have to be placed somewhere.

I'll repeat my request in case you missed it.

Can you please add an option to make Istanbul Bosphorus walkable with only one tile so a city built on this tile can connect Black sea to Aegean see?

I edited the necessary line for you:
MapToConvert[32][60]={0,2,-1,4,{{0,-1},{0,-1},{1,4}},{-1,0}}

Hey Gedemon!! I'm loving your work. But as a Canadian there's some big improvements that need to be done to the Canadian areas of this map. For example the west coast needs to be mostly grassland forest where there aren't mountains not tundra. Its a temperate rainforest there. Anyways there's just a lot of work that should be done climatically to lots of area, mainly forest placement where there is tundra or placing tundra where snow is now. I guess its hard to show you. Maybe I'll try screen shots. All in all, just a Canadian that hates the stereotype that it's a frozen wasteland north of the US. Thank you for reading.

Guys if you choose more than 30 civs, do you have problems choosing pantheons? Because all pantheon beliefs have been chosen and i am stuck on this turn to choose a non-existent pantheon!

Scythia is exactly where it is supposed to be and where it developed as a civilization. This is not an origins or migration civ pack. In that case, all the civs would be in different places. You can check any historical map of Scythian territory that you like. You have to blame the developers for too many European civs, but moving Scythia to the east is just not historically accurate whatsoever.

Exactly, B.C. is not tundra!
