This thread is just to establish a separate thread for the monthly contest entry.

Here is a set of leaderheads that can be seen in the regular Cinemod thread here.

*Naturally, these logos are the property of their respective companies, I just made them Cinemod compatible.

This set includes all four era leaderheads for Pixar.
The leaderheads were intended to help make the eras unique and identifiable.
Those eras being: the Silent Movies Era, the Black and Whites Era, the Technicolor Era and the 3-D Era.

The Pixar leaderheads can be found here.

This leaderhead is no longer being entered in the contest, but I'm leaving it here for fun.
Here is the first era leaderhead for Warner Bros.

nice the WB logo ...

Ah, excellent idea for the Cinemod.

I like the WB LH a lot. Nicely done!

However, I don't like Pixar LH. I think the animation lost too much information with that filter. Also, you could consider filling the black bar with blue color.

Editing after reading the last post of the Cinemod thread :

I love the first three Pixar LHs! I now understand why you've used these filter for the fourth, although it still looks weird to me. Perhaps you could exaggerate the 3D effect, having a full red and a full blue logo sitting 10 pixels from each other ? Anyway, the idea of a 3D logo is definitely worth looking into.

Keep them coming! :)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. And thanks for being first, monticone:D
I'll try to clean up the Pixar flc before the end of the month.

Is this more what you're thinking, or still not there yet?

It's an earlier version I discarded for some reason or another, probably I thought the letters were too dark. But, it wasn't made with a filter. Though I have and do use filters, all the animations ultimately are just worked images like this. This one was made by extracting and bumping the color channels.

I find your earlier version easier to read, indeed.

Here is a quick and rough edit of what I had in mind, exaggerating the 3D effect so it would be recognizable at first sight.

First, Supa, thanks for taking the time to show me more clearly your idea. I certainly understand your point. And, despite me working on this enough to fry my eyes, I admit:blush: it could be cleaner, somehow.

But, here lies a problem. Unless my eyes really are broken, and they might be, your image isn't really 3D. Putting on 3D glasses makes mine better, but yours (rough cut, I know) isn't. So, the issue of functionality arises.

Moreover, I know I didn't put a note here in this thread about 3D glasses like I did in the main thread. (It was intentional and did exactly what it was supposed to do.) So, if anyone reads down this far, you are notified that wearing 3D glasses should slightly make it look like I was trying to make this really 3D.

After finishing TP5 this summer, I thought it was time to get back to leader heads. Really, they are the largest bottleneck holding up any other progress on the Cinemod. Barely a week back at it and Balthasar posted his heads up contest. So, once again I'll throw my lot in for fun.

Here's the first era LH for 20th Century Fox. Yes, it's quite similar to the Pixar LH for the same era, but whatever.

The download link is here to comply with the contest rules. I don't see why anyone would actually want to download it...

As usual, 20th Century Fox owns their own stuff and I'm just playing with it.
