remember the alamo!....well, after the fight, these guys did ... requested by wolfshanze a while back, musketman (uses REDCOAT animations), cuirassier (uses CAVALRY animations) and cannon. also, the musketman and cuirassier have 256 textures.....

DOWNLOAD

ps....i dont know if the animations r working correctly, especially the cuirassier's musket....if someone else could confirm or post in-game screenies, it would be greatly appreciated :D

Yeah! My Mexicans are here!

Here are some screen shots of your units from my Mexico module.

It looks like the cuirassiers aren't holding their rifle correctly, I can't recall if this is true during the actual animation though, I'll let you know after i'm finished with the module.

I concur... the Mexican Cuirassier has the gun positioned in the wrong position.

I would also recommend using the Cuban Cavalry, Cuban MG (found in the Cuban Mod), and the Spanish Rifleman (found in the Wolfshanze Mod) for Mexican late-Industrial troops (late 19th-century Mexicans wore white uniforms).

In other news...

I whipped-up a quick Mexican Grenadier... nothing fancy...

Does this mean you are adding Mexico to your mod Wolfshanze? (Unless they are already there, I forgot)
No, this means I'm being lazy and turning Aztecs into Mexicans (when the right age hits).

Ahh, okay. Well I'm making a Mexico module for my mod you can rip stuff from. They have a nice looking flag, and their own ancient units (that look like Aztec units but are different) and cool looking middle-age units if you want to use that.

And I checked every possible gun-toting mounted unit kfm and it look like none of them work except for the cavalry, so there must be some issue there, but the animation on the cuirassier doesn't work correctly.

I'm NOT a big fan of having two completely different Civ4-civs occupying the same plot of land (Aztecs/Mexicans, Rome/Italy, etc, etc), so for me, one is simply the successor state of the other. It's a redundant thing with me... I wish you could have flags (and maybe civ names) change with ages, but you can't... in any case, I won't be making Aztecs and Mexicans... I'll just have one turn into the other.

P.S.
Just make sure your Mexican Mod uses the correct late Industrial-age uniforms for Mexico (Rifle/Cavalry & MG should all be mostly white uniforms).

i knew that musket on the cuirassier would give me problems ....in nifviewer, the cavalryman's rifle is not in his R hand node....so when i put the musket in his right hand, it dont line up right....i will play with the coordinates to see if i can get it right.....another solution would be if at some point, someone "boned" a grenadier body onto the cuirassier...if someone knows of this unit, it would be a simple thing to just change the head and dds files....let me know....:)

EDIT: ok, here is a modified mexican cuirassier NIF (mexcu.nif)....anyone whom has tested him in game, swap the nif files, and let us know if this one works...

In case you were wondering, here's what I'm doing with your units Bernie. I am making a Mexico module for my Diplomacy Mod. Here are the units I am using from the Ancient, Medieval and Industrial era. What do you guys think?

Well, the late 1800s Mexican Army (Rifleman/Cavalry) wore white, not blue.

Well, I only have a white rifleman that would fit that (I think the one you made actually) but my machine gun is more modern looking and the only grenadier I have is that blue one. So the decision to make them blue is an artistic decision more than anything. If I had a grenadier that matched I'd change it, but I'm going to leave it as is for now I think.

It may change though easily, because I am gonig to release four modules at once, and this is the first one. But do you think the other units are good (ancient and medieval) or do you think the "native" looking units switching over to "spanish" flavored units is stupid?

Also I'm busy working on a few leaderheads (Gustav Adolph included) which I was going to release in a group of four (I don't know why I like things in fours) so this stuff won't be finished in a while. So if someone wants to make white uniformed Mexican units in the meantime that would be helpful.

I guess my posts aren't worth reading since I already mentioned where you can get all those units in this very thread. :deal:

Matching Blue Grenadier* = a few posts above, same uniform as Musketman/Cannonier
White Rifleman = Spanish Rifleman from Wolfshanze Mod
White Cavalry (with "mexican" hat) = Cuban Civ Mod
White MG (with "mexican" hat) = Cuban Civ Mod

*Grenadier is NOT from the late 1800s, it would match or come-close to the Musket-style uniforms.

P.S.
Bernie... the new Nif works for the Cuirassier.

this is were i got my initial inspiration for the original "aztec grenadier".....

i used this mexican grenadier and put a hat on him (i think from rabbitW california lancer?)...note the date on the pic is 1824......

i really like the white rifleman's uniform....i could wip one up pretty fast...just let me know if u would like him to have the small dark kepi (like the band picture), he would have an "infantry stance" (animations)..... or the tall, rifleman-like kepi.....art-wise, i think the small dark/infantry stance one will look "prettier" since the dds i have for that one is more "detailed" (even though 128 :D)....so let me know.....

EDIT thanks wolf, i will replace the nif in the DL.... btw, your white rifleman is pretty darn good!

Alright, thanks for letting me know about that. The cavalry posted in my picture is their UU the Villista, so I won't change that, but thanks for the units. I'll probably replace the units I have and use them for Venezuela/Colombia. Because I am putting out pack of Americas-civilization modules. It will probably have Canada, Brazil and Colombia/Venezuela (Gran Colombia) and of course Mexico. I guess I could use the old Mexican units for GC or something. We'll see what I come up with.

i like your mexican units very much, the rifleman and grenadier may be "somewhat if" types, but i like the villista very much.....
