Boo hoo, we only blew out the opponent because of an epic showing on defense and special teams, why can't we be amazing in all three phases of the game every single moment, wah wah wah.

Must be hard to be an Alabama fan.

I know, right? All those skill players and no opportunity to show them off . . .

I did hear a good point this morning that I hadn't considered. Of the new starters, Ryan Kelly at center is the one that generated the least concern in the preseason, but maybe we just missed Barrett Jones directing traffic. More of an inexperience issue than a physical one . . .

Well that was impressive. Just one game and you have to consider the opponent, but FSU/Clemson is shaping up to be quite the game. And they both finish with SEC teams currently in the top ten, so if either can run the table they'll have a marquee game to seal the season with as well . . .

Fla St QB = He is going to shred the ACC for a couple of years. Dang.

I didn't see a single flaw in his 'physical' game. :scan:

They certainly give the students the worst seats.

Kenny Bell has apparently left the Alabama football team for personal reasons. We've got plenty of depth at receiver, but he was a great one. And he's a senior. Surely he would have gotten a shot at the NFL. Weird move . . .

EDIT: New polls

Weird movement and non-movement. I would have expected Alabama to lose some first place votes at least . . .

As many as seven SEC teams are playing loseable games this week. I'm going to say 9-4 . . .

Now apparently Kenny Bell is going to be back at practice tomorrow. That's according to Saban, not Bell . . .

Alabama has 35 players on NFL rosters to start the season, including four running backs and one tight end. The other thirty players are either offensive linemen or defenders . . .

Oh, and Julio of course. Forgot about him . . .

Oh, gee golly. You've got to go watch Saban send his best wishes at the end of today's presser to his college coach who was recently admitted to hospital. If you've ever had a socially awkward moment, you'll relate . . .

Also, RSFr DL Dalvin Tomlinson is out with knee surgery, no timetable yet. He wasn't listed on the preseason depth chart, but he saw action against VT as early as the 2nd qtr. 4 tackles, 2 solo . . .

Northwestern's starting QB and RB are questionable for Syracuse. They probably still have enough to win that game, but feeling pretty good that they won't cover.

This week's slate of games is pretty boring, but I'm very interested in this Florida at Miami game. Miami's running back is great.

At least the good games are spread out. After Miami/Florida there's UGA/SCAR and then Michigan/ND. So there will still be something to watch all day . . .

i get to be watching my team getting slaughtered like lambs in person!

formal attire does not go well with a slaughterhouse

also I thought people had to be formalish at games, what gives in the picture above?

At Alabama and Auburn only the fraternities and sororities were formal, and then I think it might have only been the pledges. Maybe some other organizations like the athletic alumni. I think things are generally a bit more formal at Ole Miss. I'm not sure about other schools. But for the general fans and the student body at large, there's not a dress code . . .

Oh, I see. I'm prepared to accept that. Flew right by me there. Whoosh . . .

EDIT: UCF's been impressive thus far. Jim Grobe's stock has fallen a bit in the last five years. Do you remember when he and Rich Rod were the prime candidates for the Alabama HC spot along with Saban . . ?

WKU managed five turnovers in their last six offensive snaps of the first quarter: pick six, three yard run, pick six, fumble, fumble, interception . . .

Florida looks like crap . . .

And appropriately enough, WKU ends the first half throwing a pick in the end zone . . .

I spoke too soon. They blocked a punt, back in the red zone. So another opportunity to turn it over . . .

And they blow it! Actually scored a TD there . . .

This is just brutal for Florida. Five turnovers, three in the red zone and one in the shadow of their own end zone. Florida is beating Miami 2-to-1 in total yards and time of possession, and has held them to 1.8 yards per carry on the ground, and they're going to lose . . .

A sack and a false start seals the deal. Appropriate . . .

The ACC's now 2-2 vs. top ten teams from the SEC. Of course, it's those pansies over there in the East that are doing all the losing :mischief:

Oregon's just showing off now . . .

Hey, good job, UVA got a stop . . .

I forgot Florida was out of the top ten now. Top twelve then . . .
