2019 Christmas Thread

Anyone cooking goose for Christmas?
We used to have three adult watch geese and a gosling that was more of a pet (one of my dad's clients paid him in geese for fixing his car; this was in the '60s when the barter system still happened sometimes in rural Alberta). We didn't eat any of them, and to this day I can't fathom eating a goose.

However, I am enjoying all the cooked geese in Ottawa these days. :p

Christmas shopping day, i have to go outside, to a store, where there are people......eeeek!:hide:

I've got some duck fat for roasting kipfler potatoes, that's nearly the same thing

I'm invited to 3 Xmas gatherings on 22nd, 24th and 26th dec. I have to buy or make presents for at least 6 more people. 2 days left.

Also I have to make Xmas lunch for 25th Dec myself.

And it is already 20th!

Any good ideas what to make with hands? I can sew, I can do origami, I can draw, I can build paper models of things. Anything with hands.

We're doing Xmas tomorrow (Saturday) on my side of the family before we go to other family stuff for the actual day. I'm a bit worried fire might cut us off from the place we need to get to on Xmas eve but wether relevant road is clear and we should have a better idea after tomorrow.

You can make an ornament with your hands. There are lots of easy designs on the web you can use. I made an ornament for a friend this year and I think he liked it. It's unique at the very least.

Don't know what that is but I approve because fried potatoes

I got a package from the space store as a gift in the mail, I know it's got patches inside but I'm not sure which ones. Can't wait to open it. :D

Origami ornaments can be very nice little gifts. You could give several that tell a story when hung together. My daughter, when she was younger, made me an origami mobile with 25 cranes of different sizes. It still hangs over my desk.

Thanks. I will do some Origami to put in Xmas trees :)

These cranes used to be more colorful, over 20 years the color has faded from many of them.

Today was the 21st of December which is Gravy Day and as it happens this was first Christmas for my family, so I made onion gravy to go with the potatoes
