2020 US Election (Part Two)

How many more "lesser of two evils," pick your poison," and "here's your two idiots," elections will the American electorate have to endure before they get REAL choice in their leaders, and the corrupt forces rigging elections are removed from their power, whom the voters had never put them into, and the U.S. Constitution had never granted them, and put into long prison sentences for electoral malfeasance and interference instead?

Can you at least pretend you are trying to converse, instead of using us as punctuation in your endless repetitive monologue?

So which one is it, then?

Obvious from the context you failed to keep in the quote, but to repeat...

You should fight back against the worst of the economic policies...in my opinion that is clearly the GOP with their trickle down drum, but you play the game on whichever side makes sense to you. If you are just totally refusing to live with the two party system, there are plenty of places you can go. I can help you get established with a nice multi-party parliamentary constitutional monarchy in Belize, for example. But fighting the two party democratic republic system in the US is tilting at windmills.

What is the hold up with Bernie conceding?

Went one step too far and missed the graceful offramp. Now he faces the dilemma of finding a way out that won't require acknowledging that he stayed in too long.

Can you hook me up with a nice lady from an actual first world country? Maybe Switzerland? Also, it doesn't even have to be a lady at this point—anyone with the Swiss citizenship will do, as long as I can leave this clown country.

Can you at least pretend these posts are more thinking people, and not screams to get your attack dogs mad for training?

I think he could fix it by dropping out right now. I don't think he went one step too far to be honest. If he continues on to the next round then yeah I think that would be a fair accusation in my opinion.

Not my wheelhouse my friend. I'm more of a "hit the frontiers and make your fortune" sort. Can't blame you for wanting out though. It's not like having established my own bolthole in Belize is a sign that I'm committed to USA#1 myself.

If he drops out now what reason does he give? The classic "I now have no probable path to the nomination so I will begrudgingly support Joe Biden the voter's choice" is an abject fail in every way. His supporters will absolutely not agree with the "voter's choice" part and will flock off into some third party fantasyland until they grow out of it, so the progressive movement will be dead. The party will maybe (probably) rally enough to beat Trump anyway and just shut the door on Sanders for good and all, and that will be that.

Third Parties shouldn't be fantasylands. Technically, they don't have to be. A great majority of majority of Americans just have to be convinced their being thoroughly screwed over good, which they are, ALL THE TIME - and it's not JUST by ONE of the two major parties.

Third Parties shouldn't be fantasylands.

And politicians shouldn't be liars. And governments shouldn't use force. And people shouldn't be self-interested asshats. And on and on and on.

What's your point?

The United States and the Russian Federation have different Constitutions, especially in many of the areas in which we disagree here. The Russian Federation allows it's government far more leniency to control elections in compromising ways, use aggressive force against, it's own people, keep secrets, especially harmful ones, from it's people with impunity, make arrests without habeas corpus and other due process violations etc. When the U.S. Government has been doing these things for decades, they are have become high criminals against the U.S. Constitution on many counts, and violated their oaths of office, thus abdicating their mandates of power and becoming "illegitimate and criminal domestic occupation regimes," not Constitutionally legal Administrations.

And, after brief commercial interruption we rejoin Patine's monologue, perpetually in progress.

Well, you may be sick of my monologue, but I'm sick of your stern defense - seemingly into perpetuity, with no reforms or betterment being realistic, and all hopes should be abandoned, or you'll heap on ridicule - for the problem, insisting that voting for one of two criminals, chosen to represent to parties that have utterly failed and screwed over the U.S., and betrayed it's people's trust numerous times, but illegally hedge out all real opposition, that one of these candidates must always be voted for (or supported), and with vigour and enthusiasm, and one should NEVER hope for, or talk about. Basically, I'm sick of you being part of the problem, a shill for a failed Establishment, and shouting down anyone who disagrees with your electoral nihilism and fatalism. I am sick of that, too, and I can tell that, on this forum, I'm not the only one.

There's a Russian YouTuber. Calls the Russian constitution a great work of fiction.

The coronavirus outbreak is one hell of an excuse if you think about it.

Acknowledging that it is the system we have rather than joining your wistful prattling for some parliamentary system more like Canada's isn't a defense. I did my time in "the two party system sucks, wish mightily it was different" limbo, thanks. I'd rather fight.

Yeah, Hobbs suggested that too. I agree, and he may very well be just sorting out how to play it. There's no real campaigning going on or upcoming primaries anyway and Biden has already pivoted to the general so not really any rush.

Canada's system is far from perfect, either, I concede. We were GIVEN a colonized near-carbon-copy of the UK's Westminster tradition in 1867, like Australia was in 1901, New Zealand was in 1911 (I think), and South Africa was in 1910, but, like Australia, had a Federal division of power between national and regional government like the U.S. does. It has been a political system that has inspired a lot of griping up here, too. Our Senate is actually appointed, not elected. But, Canada has, for several decades, actually worked on Constitutional reform of meaningful and productive sorts. The U.S. has barely changed it's Constitution since setting Presidential term limits. I think some bragging rights are to be had here...
