2nd UU and 2nd UB for DoC

We could have the Host Club for Japan, that's pretty unique. :)

Alternatively, I think the castle replacement might be more appropriate (shiro).
They were known to have very intricate castle designs and are quite culturally significant (when one thinks of Japan).
 
Couldn't the torii be a replacement for pagan shrine that can be build regardless of the religion in your city ?

Shintoism is underrepresented, and Kaizen Plant while awesome has little to do with Classical/Feudal Japan.

Torii should have some benefits with Water Tiles. +1 Specialist per Fishing Boat, anyone? This will really make taking over Indonesia worth it IMO.
 
iOnlySignIn: in RFCAsia they are espionage-oriented, maybe one free spy per fishing boat? Or just a flat bonus of 4/5 espionage, as spies might mess up your great artist-farming.

The Host Club is indeed unique, but I want to give Japan a feudal or shinto 2nd UB. I don't think that the Host Club is very fitting in that case.

I could replace the Torii with the Jinja (the shrine itself). The bonus doesn't even need to change.

1 Specialist for each workboat could be nice. But I have my concerns. Tokyo will have 2 free specialist. That's not a big issue. 2 Specialists are generally fine. But in the early game, that could be OP.

This is doable. I see that it requires some python coding. I think I'll manage to do this. It will also get a small espionage bonus then.

EDIT: If I understand the code correctly, all Pagan Temple UB's won't switch to a temple of the religion. I'm not sure if they are still buildable when you have a religious temple. Can someone please check this?

The google doc's suggestions for India's 2nd Unique Unit, is some sort of War Elephant Replacement. There are already a lot of different kinds of War Elephants in the region. While the use of Elephants was popular in India, I would argue having 3+ kinds of War Elephants is overkill. May a suggest a vendic archer or spearmen replacement. This is historical, and it fits with the kinds of wars gameplay wise that India will engage with (defending against barbarians, persians etc).

Personally, for my shiro suggestion, I think that either a raw espionage bonus or a stability bonus would be good, seeing as they were built for the purpose of guarding specific strategic locations.

Just wanna add something else, mildly off topic. That is, if Maya's UB will be the "observatory", then possibly their UP should change to something else as well?

I don't think that's necessary to have the Mayans have an other UP. However, I think the Koreans need another UP, because their 2nd UU will be the Kobukson.

Ok I really like the Ninja idea, just coming from a Japan campaign, Ninja's would be a lot of fun and helpful with stealing techs.

Yes, but I'm quite busy now. This project is currently frozen. I will resume when I have more time.

(Maybe version 1.9 will be released short after I'm able to put more time in this project. If so, I wait until it's released, so I can include Prussia and the other new civs with it)
 
It'll still take a while for 1.9 to come out.

I started working on the modcomp again and I have good new: The modcomp is very likely (I'm about 90% sure) to be aviable on SVN as well as the normal download. :D (At least the 2nd UU part, the 2nd UB part is still not sure)

I've also update the list in the 2nd post, with the new civs.

Will the DLL still work if it is set to handle the extra buildings, but no buildings are added? If it still works with the changes and you make these changes in the SVN, it's possible to have the 2nd UB modcomp for the SVN.
 
No, the embassy system will only work if the number of buildings is consistent between the DLL and Building XML.

What files are needed to make the required changes. Is it enough if I only edit the CvRhyes.h, or should I also edit the CvGameCoreDLL in the assets?

I'm asking this because I saw srpt making some DLL changes without changing the CvGameCoreDLL, which made me thinking that it's possible to make DLL changes by only changing th .h and .cpp files. Or are my thoughts about this wrong? If only changing the CvRhyes.h is enough to make the extra buildings work, I might be able to make the 2nd UB modcomp SVN compatible.
 
Changes to the source code don't have any effect at all. You have to recompile the DLL.
