Dear Gertrude,
On this eve of March 19th I have received message of my promotion to commander of the campaign against the communists. My boys are ready to fight and die for the cause, and so I too must be. This letter, my love, may be the last I send. I cannot guarantee my return, but I can promise my complete devotion to victory. Hold your bible in hand and pray for us both just like you did when I last was at the front. God wills the success of the white race over the heathen savages and I fight as a zealous warrior of faith. President Wright gave me this promotion for a reason and I believe it is God's wish to see me lead this glorious campaign for our nation. Make sure the boys attend the youth programs, I have given promotion to Nathaniel to move him out of infantry. I cannot allow either of us to bury our own sons. He will be safe doing supply work behind the lines. Read the papers, I lead the men to glory for you and for Georgia.
Yours eternally,
J. Dahl
