Out of safety and enjoyment of the upcoming Olympic Games, New France declares the following:
Our borders are closed to all war traffic, including supplies such as guns, ammunition and resources used to produce war machines. Trade is still open, and so is tourism, all war supplies discovered by our border agents will be confiscated and introduced into the New France Military. This includes ships captured in our waters.

(I will inform you that our navy has been given strict warning as to where our jurisdiction ends in the water, approximately 100 miles out of the coast. If a ship has been captured and you feel it was well out of our jurisdiction, we will investigate the incident and if found correct we will return the ship and all supplies it was carrying with our apologies.)

New France also hopes you will respect this following request:
All military actions, such as marching troops, combat (Air and Naval) remain at least 50 miles from the border of New France to avoid accidental casualties to Olympic events. This also includes Naval Battles around the waters of New France.

OOC: Not sure if we have yacht racing or other water sports that involve the ocean or some form of water. So I included Naval actions as well.

Also, I am sure most of the action is in the east and very few if any is in the west, this is just a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the athletes and visitors of the Games.

Now, I assume that almost all of you have some interest or basic knowledge in history, and I issue a challenge for you. Take a single individual, invention, or thereof that you are familar with in our history. Then, think about how it may be different in this timeline. This is a good exercise for those of you who don't typically write stories, and it gets the creative juices flowing. Some examples of me doing this are listed below as ideas for you:

The current president of the Russian Federation.

These are the three main ones I have done within various updates. I challenge all of you to attempt the same thing with some leader or object which figures into our history. It doesn't have to be something everyone would know about, indeed it could just be a revised family history of your own due to the changes of the timeline.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Adolf Hitler, and Josef Jughashvili. I knew the later two, but didn't recall the introduction of FDR in this timeline.

It's a little tricky with the Métis Syndicate, as their population in this timeline is much larger and different than it was in OTL. I made mention in one of my stories of 'Rielists'- Louis Riel is OTL one of the most famous Métis, the leader of the Red River and Northwest Rebellions against Canada. Motivated by the Catholic faith, the desire for Metis rights, and (in his last days) something of a messiah complex, he became a polarizing figure and the spiritual heart of his people. He was executed in 1885 for his leadership of the rebellions.

In this timeline, his religious ideas would come to be his claim to significance. Growing frustrated with the Catholic Church after his ongoing realization in its complicity with the imperialistic powers of the world, he began to espouse an increasingly heretical docrine, eventually proclaiming that 'Rome has Fallen', and that the New Church would take its place in North America. While today regarded as having been mentally ill, his contemporaries were strongly influenced by his words, causing a variety of various religious and legal conflicts before his death by natural causes in 1908. His legacy lived on, in the Rielist movement, a small Catholic-derived church which wishes for the seat of the Papacy to be moved to the New World- although exactly where this 'New Rome' would exist remains a contentious issue for the Rielists.

OOC: I may be digging my own grave, but I just noticed that the leader of SUSA, Jose Batlle y Ordonez, has lived well beyond when he died OTL (at least 17 years). He's about 91 years old now. This sucks, since he would have been a good way to negotiate peace with the Uruguayans (he was Uruguayan). Just had to say this for role-playing's sake.
