THE WORLD UNITED IN SPORT. Athens, Greece. At the instigation of civil Greek and Danish leaders, the worlds first International Olympics have been held in the city of Athens. The prime minister of Denmark made a stirring speech calling for peace and civility to be had between nations, as seen by members of belligerent nations who competed in sporting events. Some have attributed this to the change in heart seen with the cease-fire in Britain. Many hope that the Olympics are a sparkling sign of events to come, for a future without war.

ALBANY PLEBISCITE HELD. Albany, Republic of New England. The long awaited vote on unification with the Republic of New England was held this year in Albany and had startling results. Despite initial polls which argued for independence, the people of Albany appeared to have voted for unification with their allies to the east. The campaign was brutal and marked by violence and disturbances, caused by both anti- and pro-union activists. Upon the announcement of the success of the plebiscite and impending unification, New York City broke out into massive riots, causing fires damaging the city severely. An underground New Yorker nationalist movement, calling themselves the New York Yankees, has pledged to continue extreme resistance. They punctuated their threats with several bombings of government buildings in Albany during the period of occupation by New Englander military forces. (-2 Stability for Republic of New England)

TEXAS ELECTIONS. Houston, Texan Republic. A dramatic upset took place in this years elections in Texas, with the removal of the long reigning Conservative Party from power. The Liberal Party has vowed to minimize Texas losses in the Georgian war, playing off last years devastating blow to the navy. The Liberal Party has promised to their constituency that they will end the war at the soonest moment possible, assuring the security of the members of the Gulf Alliance. The hard fought elections have had an obviously destabilizing influence on the country, and has worked to polarize members of the various political parties. (-2 Stability)
GULF WAR. Savannah, Georgia. Fighting escalated in Georgia this year as the French Imperialists intervened on behalf of the Georgian government. The French Imperial Navy, combined with Georgian submarine raiders, managed to smash the Gulf Alliances attempts at establishing a blockade on the east coast, bringing a dreadnought to protect Savannah harbor. The Gulf fleets were forced away to return to ports further south. The French army has entered into combat alongside the Georgians, though their efficiency has been dramatically reduced as internal issues cause trouble within the ranks as civil war erupts at home. On the land, the Georgians managed to defeat the Gulf salient from Florida in the south, pushing back slightly into Floridian territory. They have managed to place St. Augustine under threat of siege and attack, and the Floridian government has withdrawn south. Louisianans, supported by Cuban and Texan troops, made a major offensive into southern Georgia, reeling back the enemy army through sheer force of numbers in a single penetrative assault. The major industrial center of Montgomery has fallen to the Gulf Alliance advance, inflicting a major obvious defeat upon Georgia. The Georgians have rallied in the east, once more holding back the offensive, with French support as well as massive superiority in artillery fire and support. The lines have once more solidified into a coherent front.

CIVIL WAR AND REBELLION ERUPTS IN TENNESSEE. Nashville, Kingdom of Tennessee. A full scale slave uprising was launched this year in Tennessee, taking advantage of the confusion caused by the war to the south as well as the recent nationalization of slaves. Inspired by Marxist ideals, a small group of Negro leaders have rallied the masses through an underground network throughout southern Tennessee. Taking the whites by surprise, they overwhelmed a significant number of Tennessee border defenses from the rear, capturing arms and slaughtering the soldiers. The communist negroes have proclaimed the Peoples Republic of the Tennessee, rallying in the agricultural regions of the country. This has understandably sent the white population into a panic, fleeing towards the Mississippi River or Nashville. The Ku Klux Klan has rallied military forces as well as numerous militias along the Mississippi, attacking Negro positions and the black population in general. Numerous atrocities have been reported on all sides as the government struggles to retain order. Some of the fighting has spilled over into both Virginia and Georgia, and Klannists in both countries have assembled low level militias to maintain order along the border, particularly with both nations militaries otherwise occupied. The chaos on the Mississippi has had a very negative effect on local trade, as freight is severely hindered, sending wrecks and damages all the way down to New Orleans. UNSA THREAT ANALYSIS. Toronto, Canada. A two year study has been completed by various sociological and political science leaders from the United Nation-States of America. They published the Analysis of Threats to the Security of North America, a document discussing international threats to the security of the nations of the UNSA. Debated within it were the socialists of western North America and South America, as well as various colonial powers. The socialists and communists were dismissed in this document as a legitimate threat, believed to be too unstable to ever pose a true threat to the east. The Gulf Alliance, while denounced by some, is seen to still be a better stabilizing influence in North America than that of the Georgians. The top threat acknowledged by the UNSA researchers was definitively proclaimed to be the German Empire and their puppets within the North Sea Alliance. Researchers claim that the massive naval build-ups by the German and Swedish Empires are most likely to be turned against the sovereignty and independence of the UNSA.
PROBLEMS IN LOUISIANA. New Orleans, Empire of Louisiana. Anti-war protests continued to escalate this year, sparking the declaration of martial law in New Orleans and the arrest of several leaders of the Louisianan Socialist Party. RUSSIAN FEDERATION ELECTIONS. St. Petersburg, Russian Imperial Federation. This years elections once more saw the domination of the Federalist Party over all other contenders in Russia. Playing off their success in reforming the government structure, the Federalists have managed a major victory in maintaining control of over 70% of the Duma. In the northern part of France, the communists have banded together to gain control, securing most of the northern coast of the country along the English Channel. They have been quickly backed by the Belgian socialists, who have pledged full support for the revolution. Marseilles has also become a hotbed of resistance, joining Petains Lisist movement, pledging a new government around the charisma of this ruler. Though no solid terms have been made yet, the Celtic Union is said to have offered a peace at prewar borders, with no major reparations or damages to be paid by either side. It seems obvious to most foreign observers that years of stalemate have finally brought a reluctant peace to these powers.
TRANSYLVANIAN CRISIS. Blaj, Transylvania. Inspired by protests of the Transylvanian people, the government of the Russian Imperial Federation launched an invasion of the Balkan country this year. The Transylvanians put up a token but fierce resistance at the Royal Palace of Blaj, holding back the Russian army for several days. After the fighting, the king was overthrown, having fallen back in exile to Bulgaria. Under Russian guidance a new Transylvanian republic has been established. The first elections are marked for next year to be followed up every four years. This move has been met with much resistance in the Russian Imperial Protectorate. The Persian republic government deployed strong military forces against the renegade warlord of Hormogzan, winning several minor localized successes. Smaller skirmishes were fought against the Baluch nationalists, who managed to hold back advances made by the government into their territory. In the western part of the country, the warlord of Arabistan has been ruthlessly crushed by Virginian forces, who overwhelmed and outmaneuvered the Persian forces. TROUBLE IN PARADISE. Honolulu, Hawaii. Several anti-Swedish riots broke out in Honolulu this year, sparked primarily by Mexican socialists. Swedish military forces were brought in to restore order, and civilian casualties are estimated somewhere below a hundred. With the display of force by the Swedes, most of the civilians returned home, though lingering dissent remains.
WAR IN CHINA CONTINUES. Lanzhou, Republic of China. Both the republican army and the Koreans launched massive offensives this year as the war seems to escalate beyond even previous proportions. Anti-Korean Chinese guerillas have begun to strike behind Korean lines, particularly as new military railroads and infrastructure interrupt the life many peasants are used to. The strengthening of the Western blockade has also taken a major toll, see the below article for more information on that. The Koreans were the first to launch an offensive this year into southern China, easily overwhelming the much smaller Chinese force, and pushing deep into the former warlord state of Yunnan. Despite this major victory for the Koreans, taking some of the economic heart of the republic, as well as cutting the route for most foreign aid, they have suffered two military setbacks. The Chinese won a major victory over the Imperial Chinese after luring them into a trap in the mountains. The imperials were routed once again, and the republicans have once more begun pushing upon Zhengzhou. The first artillery shells have even begun landing on the imperial capital, and many believe the city will soon fall. Regular Korean forces were overwhelmed on the Yangtze River, as waves of Chinese soldiers poured over their defensive positions. Reinforcements were hastily brought up from the south, eventually halting the advance.
Casualty List
Republican China: 110 Infantry Brigades, 8 Cavalry Brigades, 11 Artillery Brigades
Imperial China: 49 Infantry Brigades, 2 Cavalry Brigades
Korean Empire: 38 Infantry Brigades, 14 Cavalry Brigades, 8 Artillery Brigades
THE UNDECLARED WAR. Shanghai, Swedish Empire. Prior to 1912, the Western blockade of China against Korean trade remained mostly ineffectual. This year and last year marked a dramatic change in this situation. A massive influx of Swedish and New Englander ships as well as the introduction of zeppelin patrols to look for shipping has changed everything. The use of zeppelins allows for spotting of the coal-powered Korean transports from many miles away. The Westerners have therefore been able to mark and destroy or capture nearly 70% of all transports attempting to make it to China. Light Korean warships have also been destroyed by the far more powerful Swedish and New Englander ships, though the exchange has gone both ways throughout the year. Attempts to begin production on the continent has been met with internal sabotage as well as guerilla raids, minimizing the effectiveness of production on the mainland.
Casualty List
Korean Empire: 8 Destroyers, 3 Light Cruisers
New England: 4 Destroyers, 1 Light Cruiser
Swedish Empire: 1 Light Cruiser

Just discovered I missed removing Texan ships from the big ole naval battle last year, the stats have been adjusted, meaning most of their fleet is gone. In fact, looking back, I forgot to have that in the last update. By the time this is read, that will be adjusted.
Because of the massive proliferation and the rise of automotive industry in several powers, cheap automobiles have been removed as a tech for research.
@germanicus12: zeppelin squadrons (the ones available) require Zeppelin Militarization. However, scouting is possible with the initial tech.
