A Brave New World Part 2

to: Sauk
from: Empire of Louisiana
We demand your withdrawal from Chicago, or we will continue north and remove you.

to: Haiti
from: Empire of Louisiana
We echo Texas's demands

to: People of Louisiana
from: Emperor Jean I
We are victorious over France, we are now an independent nation. Rejoice, but not too extensively, for peace is still a while away.

to: Cuba
from: Empire of Louisiana
Brothers freed from the French oppression, we wish to extend trade relations with your nation, help you repair the damage done by the retreating French armies and strengthen our economics.

To Sauk
From Deseret

We also stand with Louisiana in its terms that you leave Chicago immediately or war will come between us.

From: Texan Republic
To: Empire of Haiti

We demand an explanation for your hostile intentions in Cuba. Your gallivanting around the Caribbean is unnecessary and unwarranted. We demand immediate withdrawal of all forces from lands other than Haiti proper and those possesions to be turned over to the governance of the Republic of Texas so that the people of those areas will not become forced into servitude as you attempted with the Cubans. We will allow Democratic elections so that the people may decide their fate rather than be controlled by oppressive Haitians.

We apologize for invading Cuba in such a rude manner. We only want to rid French influence from the Americas. That is why we declared war on France. We feared a nation so close to us would fall under their influence. We again apologize and hope this doesn't effect future diplomatic relationships.

But as for the new possesions we will not turn them over to you. We will keep them until a proper government is set up. I assure you they will soon decide however way they want to govern themselves.

OOC: Haiti is now going to invade Virginia to end the control of London over America once and for all!

The French military is plainly a joke, even in this NES. The conversation on the front must have been like this:

"So, I heard the Brits landed in Normandy, Paris-bound. You don't suppose we should go defend the capitol, heart and soul of the entire Empire, do you?"

"Nah I'm sure the zero defenses stationed there will do just fine."

From: France

We are willing to discuss terms for peace.

SPAIN. Gibraltar, Moroccan occupied French Empire. The French Empire lost control of much of Spain due to the arrival of two invading forces. From the south, the Moroccan military, victorious at sea against the French navy, landed at Seville and occupied the vital base at Gibraltar. They have also pushed inland, the only resistance coming from civilians waging guerilla war against the unpopular Muslim occupiers...

Not to be a perfeccionist, but the possibilities of an army landing at Seville are next to nil, especially when we consider that: a) Seville is an inland city, and b) the only thing that connects Seville to the sea is Guadalquivir River, which (as much as it pains me to say this) doesn't have enough depth for a warship to get in it, much less for a fleet that carries a whole army. If you wish to change this, might I suggest Cádiz, which is not only a coastal city, but also a very important port and an strategic position as well? If not, Huelva should work nicely, as it is a coastal city as well and is relatively near to Seville.

You feared that a nation that was previously controlled by France and just fresh out of signing peace with France for their independence would so soon fall back into subservience to the French? We feel your reasoning to be half-truths if not lies. We instead truly believe that you intended to commandeer the Cuba free elections and install your own dictator to rule for you.

We indeed hope those possessions that you took violently will soon be allowed their own free elections. And we request to be present at these elections as you would indeed need a true Republic to assist in this.

Next thing you'll be questioning the logistics of a non-industrialized Indian nation conquering all the Northwest Territory, or greater numbered and better-trained forces failing on all fronts. Hah!

To Louisiana, Deseret and everyone else.

Sauk will not negotiate or sign a separate peace treaty from France.

I am not going to question in-game things, but RL things... I think that I can protest them (especially in this case since it deals with my country, or what rests of it in here).

It's obvious then that you aren't asking for Germany, England, Sweden, Mexico, Denmark and all other members of the Berlin Alliance (I thought I was member of this), because we aren't barbarians.

We are not sure if you know what war is. In war you must fear that your enemies will arise from anywhere and be especially wary about the nations around you. We could also say that you are just as much of a tyrant as you claim Haiti to be. You send forces to a nation to create a government, is that not what you did and what you claim we were doing?

We also welcome you to the elections.

The difference between you and I however is that the Cubans wanted us there. You were never invited.

Thank you for allowing us to observe and take part in the elections of the French possessions. We are sure that this will be prosperous for the people of that region.

We could argue with that statement in a hundred different ways but we won't since it will lead to endless arguments and maybe war.

And for our last statement enjoy the elections.

We are willing to hold the Peace Talks in Rome to resolve war with France. Italy will cease its advance if this is acceptable to France and the Alliance.

This is acceptable to us.

I'd recommend a separate thread for peacetalks, as that has worked well in the past.
