i followed the step by step and it should be working but when i get to the woc installer point it says error merger file abort
 
I think Crossbows should come later than Machinery. I always beeline for Machinery myself. It has some vital improvements as well as the best unit for quite a while.

I wouldn't want to push Crossbows too high on the tree, they have been around for over 2000 years. I just wish the Longbow & Crossbow were a bit better balanced related to each other. Longbows are almost not needed when you have Crossbows.

Historically, Longbows had a higher rate of fire, but required more training. Crossbows were easier to use, but there was a big difference between different crossbows. The very heavy draw strength crossbows were extremely slow to reload, but had a lot of striking power. The small hand drawn crossbows had less striking power than a longbow, but allowed for troops to be rapidly trained and put in the field.

Anyhow, none of this is A New Dawn issue....it just occurred to me when Feudalism was being mentioned as a chokepoint.

I usually play Vincentz modmod "Sea Harvest" and "Silent Hunter", but I can't seem to get it to work with AND. He hasn't worked on it since July for ROM 2.71, so what need to be updated in order to get it to work? Or is it incorporated in a later edition of AND?

I currently play ROM 2.71 Full and AND 1.55 Patch.

I still get a significant slowdown with beta10 whan the civ list (lower right) is open. I haven't played since around beta4, but I seem to remember that it was solved previously. It's certainly there now. Once I click on my civ name the slowdown goes away. Am I the only one with this problem?

WTH is this???!!!! I just downloaded your mod and installed, but its messed up my game, it won't even load to the main menu! Instead it says something about a module failing to load, then it says "Beyond the Sword has stopped working" and the game doesn't load. *Sigh* I guess once again I'll have to waste hours of my time reinstalling a game after a buggy mod makes it dysfunctional.

Did you read the FAQ? I suspect you installed to the wrong folder.
 
There's nothing in the FAQ about what happened to my game. I also did not put in the wrong folder. I put it in the Beyond the Sword folder exactly as the installer said. I had Rise of Mankind Full installed completely as well, so nothing wrong there.

It too late to fix it now, I've already deleted my Beyond the Sword folder. Though you should know that I had been having problems beforehand with getting the mod started. The ordinary game and my other mods (including ROM) worked fine, but yours always crapped out on me with something about files being missing. I installed this new update thinking that it might fix the bugs, but instead it destroyed my game.

this happened, :cry:[pissed]it also crashed my computer ~5 seconds later and I got a blue screen of death, and my dad is coming home soon :suicide:

I was playing GEM 31 civs, and I had gotten ~200 turns into without a single problem :cry:
 
GEM is one of the largest maps in the game, and you only have 2gb RAM, correct? That's your problem.
 
I've had it with Windows, time to Cider Port Civ4 :(
 
@Afforess, if you want, three of my mod are OK to merge into AND. Warriors of God (python and XML), tea mod (xml) and caravan graphics (xml). Also my conversion of Orion Veteran's could be merged with the RoMModularWonder or what ever they are called. All links or code can be found on my thread.

I am thought that the hunting lodge pack was ready but I have decided to merge that in with a new Subdue Animals mod based on StrategyOnly's. This will also affect some of AAranda's buildings which will also be moving to this pack. So I am reworking his religions and buildings also.

With sea animals do I need to install your "Sea Monsters" mod to get them to spawn or does that bit come with basic dll?

As for sea monsters spawning...
It Has nothing to do with the XML, you need the python for it. Look at the python module, it's pretty obvious why none spawn...
 
Civ IV already has a Mac version. Unfortunately, I purchased mine as the windows version as well.

The Mac version of BTS is a scam, so no great loss there.

You should be able to just drag and drop the Project folder from Vincentz modmod's into the Modules folder. However, don't overwrite the ModularLoadingControls's file.

I updated my cvgamecore.dll ,which worked for about 20 turns, now again I seem to be crashing to desktop on the next turn.
Should I be reporting this here or to zappara :(

actually your gain, with Mac Civ IV it can't use DLL :(
