A New Dawn Bug Reports and Feedback

I was just thinking of this while driving home. There was a Blood Drive being advertised at my local elementary school I used to go to, and I was shocked at the seemingly bad idea of that. Kids giving blood in a blood drive? Even if they got parental consent, you honestly think kids would care enough or even want to have needles stuck in them?

I then remembered how I got inoculated in school once.

I then thought...

How about in A New Dawn, Universities give a +1 to Unhealthiness in a city (since it's basically large masses of people coming together from all around and likely living in close proximity with one another)?

BUT even better: once you reach Modern Sanitation or Medicine, Universities give a +2 to Healthiness in a city?

The university I go to now is one that has many international students, and before I could register for classes, I had to submit my medical records and a history of innoculations and vaccinations I had, as well as a suggestion for two voluntary innoculations that I should get, or else risk skipping it.

This doesn't need to be represented by buildings, it's already represented in the game. It's why every population gives +1 unhealthiness.

Hi,

we are three guys and have 1.73Beta2 installed(Recommend MP). We would to test and play it in MP. We have all RoM 2.91 (MP works)

The others have WinVista and I have WinXP.

They can see their Games in the Lobby but i can't see any games and when I open a Game they didn't see my Game.

When they play one Round the Game has an OOS, but we have no Idea where the Problems are, but we would inform you.

This is a great Modmod. :)

If you want to play Multiplayer without a single problem, install RoM 2.81 (RoM 2.8 plus the 2.81 patch) and then AND 1.63. It is perfect. We've played over 10 games, changing options, speeds and map sizes and not a single OOS ever. RoM 2.91 and more recent AND versions have OOS problems.

This version of ROM: AN is running REALLY slow on my computer. Much slower than the original version. The turns are taking just as long at 79 AD as ROM was taking at 1600. I have 4 gigs of RAM and a 1g video card. What gives?

Gamespeed is very dependant on what you installed. Using a recommended install, the turn times are identical to RoM 2.91; installing more than that will slow turn times.

Ah I see. It's a great mod, but I'm a very impatient person. I'll have to do a bare bones re-install I suppose.

You don't need a barebones install; some of the features don't add content, and thus don't slow the game down. In the custom install screen, generally the higher the mb being installed, the slower the game. ;)

It should probably be a little LONGER than double, as the mission is done without any evasive maneuvers, and without any ordinance.

But having a rebase range three times the size of the regular range will defeat the purpose of this mod component, because having a 24-range rebase will cover 90% of cities. It will mean that planes will not be able to rebase over continents before super-sonic flight, but that is all. For expansive civilisations (but ones which are on the same continent and it's surrounding lines) this means this mod-component would not actually do anything much!

Guys, it doesn't matter. I've created a new panel in the BUG Options for AND options, you will be able to set the rebase to whatever you want.

That's pretty awesome. I haven't said it much lately, but your mod is what makes this game worth playing 5 years after it first came out.

BTW, anyone know if there are any adverse affects from having autosave set up for every turn? Because right now I have a giant map+snail pace game which crashes whenever I try to load it after a certain year. It just asks me to save a crash dump (I'll post on request - it's on the other computer).

Now, since I only have 3 gigs of memory, I'd imagine it might be running out. I'll be adding 4 gigs doubling that in about 2 weeks (if memory prices don't rocket into the stratosphere - acquaintance at the local shop showed me an invoice of almost $60 for 2 gigs DDR2-800, and he then has to make a profit on that, so he has to charge around $90 for that). If I do, I'll reload the mod that I have saved, and reload the game. See if it helps.

No there isnt, i have mine set that way all the time.:p I did it for a just incase it CTD. I also have it set for only ten saves total, but really thats up to each individual.
I never ever use crash dump, for some reason, it just didnt work for me ever.:(

EDIT: Its ok for the extra memory but i dont think it will matter that much if you have an older puter. I put over 4gigs in mine and i still had MAF's galore, but now i have a new puter and the problem has gone away, but the inbetween turns haven't(as much lately, and anything over 10 civs for some reason just slooooows the game down DRASTICALLY).

RoM 2.91 works fine in MP, we doesn't have Problems with. Hmm then the reason must be in AND1.73

Quite Possible, since I have a huge single player bias. Lately, I've been improving MP support; but I won't be able to run good tests until RevDCM releases 2.8 with their MP fixes.

You maybe do not have time to read all the post afforess so I put a copy here only for you, other do not need to read this:

We started a MP game with 3 Human 2 days ago the spec:
Archipelagos, 9 civ total at start (the map size that give 9 civ as standar).
Barbs all on.
Ruthless AI, Rev on.

The game didn't play without OOS, much more than the game we did the day before, but we manage to arrive in about 500 BC, than stop to continue yesterday.

SO what a surprise, with massive wars going on, city capturing both way, AI turns taking now about 30 seconds, NOT ONE SINGLE OOS we stop the game about 500 AD, to try to get some sleep after several "just one more turn".

between 500 BC and 500 AD, it as been several revolution, many civ (human and AI) went to war, lose and conquer city.
There is oabout 20 civ from 50 to close to 1000 point.
The best civ are 2 AI with 9xx and 7xx point.

we start the game with different difficultys per HUman Players but no flexible difficulty:
Emperor
Prince
Noble

We continue the day after, the same game so day 3, and than OOS almost at once and quite often, playable but why did day 2 was OOS free, with a LOT OF battle going on and Revolution ect . . .

I am sorry I found a new crash, afaik i didnt screw up this time. Sorry bout last time. As soon and as I end turn it crashes back to desktop.
