A reminder to go and vote

Rock, Meet Hard Place.

But if you have to put your slip of paper in a container on the way out, then it would become somewhat difficult to hold onto it for later.

Printing it internally without the voter being able to see it is the nearest thing to useless, IMHO.

In East-Central PA, straight Republican and for the ballot initiative giving compensation to Gulf War Veterans.

Oh, speaking of straight party, there was a sign on the side of the voting divider stating that as of (I forget the date, but I think it said August XX, 2006), straight party voting is no longer available.

I noticed that too. Did you also see a lot of people running unopposed? There were like three Dems and one Rep with no opponent on my ballot form.

Well, I did my part by putting up signs along I-75 late last night!

So y'all have to vote Silly Party, then?

@Murky: Yep, a lot of county positions always run unopposed. It really cracks me up when you see a party affiliation for County Coroner!

@Irish: Meadow Party, actually. Bill the Cat could sweep the county.

I had the opportunity to vote straight party, in my precinct.

On my sample ballot, it has 11 Rep choices and 6 Dem ones for 11 State Representative slots.

It has really made me consider the possibility of running for State Rep two years from now. :coffee:

Eh, I'll donate a buck to your campaign.

Surely you have hot college girls needing a washington summer internship...

Id be willing to ... fastrack them...hehehehe

:P

@IglooDude, I'll help run a smear campaign against your opponents.

I can see it now, "Vote for IglooDude or the kitten gets it!"

I wish I was old enough to vote, but I'm a little less than a year too young. I'll be old enough in '08, of course, at which time Western Civilization as we know it will collapse at the sheer bizarreness of having me vote.

Becuase obviously, I shouldn't be voting. I should be commanding you all as my minions. :D

In other news, I just got a call from the famous Republican "Get Out the Vote" campaign, wanting to talk to my Mother. They wanted to leave the message "Vote for George Allen". I found the situation oddly humorous, actually.

Is your mother Jewish?
Not that I'm aware of. I think she's of German descent, actually.

I'm not quite sure why I found the call so funny, but I did.

Wasn't George Allen the one who turned out to have a Jewish mother? Hence my comment, that the phone call would have been funnier that way. It was an obscure joke.
Nah, I got the joke. :) I think his mother is partially, but not fully Jewish.

Has anyone else been called by people of either party urging them or their living or dead relatives to vote?
