Since Bush did such a bang up job on Iraq and the private sector is superior to the public sector, my proposal is that President Obama clear the way for Bush to lead a private sector restoration of Iraq. The U.S. government will not stand in the way to a private sector solution and will grant certain waivers on weapon possession, passport restrictions, etc. so this can work.

Bush, for his part, should be encouraged to start a corporation and do an IPO to raise funds. While I really do not like government meddling, I can for see that a portion of the amount paid for shares could be tax deductible just to get things jump started.

Thoughts? Suggested details?

The real damage has been done after Obama left the place. Considering the mess started in Syria, that had nothing to do with President Bush.

This is probably a hit and run, as so many of CH's indefensible claims are.

Counter proposal:

Offer Dick Cheney to Iraq as their President for life. Transfer all the mercenary contracts we paid for and continue to pay for in Iraq to him and start buying Iraqi oil for a dime on the dollar so he can pay them. He'll wind up running an exact duplicate of Saddam's brutal regime, but this time we will have learned our lesson and not jump in and create a power vacuum while counting on the fantasy that "they will embrace us as liberators."

I would only endorse your plan if Bush had to go live in Iraq as part of it.

If only OBAMA had armed the Syria dictatorship which had used WMDS on its own people ..... OH WAIT :mischief:
If only OBAMA had armed the opposition to Syria dicatorship which then became ISIS ...... OH WAIT :mischief:
If only OBAMA had used armed US forces to overthrown the democratically elected IRAQ president and thrown out BUSH treaty to have all US forces leave signed in 2008 .... OH WAIT :mischief:

...other than the facts that Bush signed the agreement which required the U.S. to leave and, don't forget, it was Bush's blundering which destablized the whole region to begin with. But other than that, Bush is totally innocent. :jesus:

Not really that concerned with Iraq and IS, it seems like a regional thing, can't we let Israel, Jordan and the Saudis handle it?

I'd be more concerned with Iran and whatever those talks are to prevent them from obtaining nukes that could target Europe or the US. I know to many that prospect seems like fantasy and centuries away but I don't think it's that far off if we give them free reign and lift all sanctions without getting and regulation in return.

US: "Hey - Will you be a good mate and attack Iran for us."
Iraq: "Sure no worries - what do you want?"
US: "Just sell keep selling oil in US dollars"
Iraq: "No worries, what about Kuwait?"
US: "We are not interested in them"
Iraq: "OK, I understand"
US: "Hey we didn't mean for you to invade them"
Iraq: "Damn, now what"
US: "We are going to have to punish you for that"
Iraq: "We are really hurting now"
US: "Well you brought that on yourself"
Iraq: "OK, well we are going to sell our oil to Europe for some Euros"
US: "Don't do that, we won't like that"
Iraq: "But the sanctions are really hurting us and the US dollar is not what it once was"
US: "Do you have WMDs?"
Iraq: "No we don't"
US: "Yes you do, because the British says you do"
Iraq: "Those are lies"
US: "We don't care, we are going to change things anyhow"
Iraq: "Ouch, that hurt, now what are you going to do?"
US: "So you don't have WMDs. Don't worry we will look after things for a while"
Iraq: "What about the oil?"
US: "We set up new contracts with our friends"
Iraq: "But what about all the damage to our country"
US: "We'll let you manage that from from now on"
Iraq: "Wait, are you going to leave things like this"
US: "Of course. It is your country, you sort it out"
Iraq: "ISIS is getting bigger and taken one of northern cities"
US: "No worries we will drop some bombs on them"
Iraq: "That is not going to help. We need your troops"
US: "Sorry, you will have to deal with them"
Iraq: "We can't, we are scared of them"
US: "You will have to deal with that yourselves"
Iraq: "OK. We will ask for Iran's help"
US: "No don't to that, we train some of your soldiers to fight better"

I was dense enough to support Bush in my younger years and I still recognize you're wrong.

I would agree on US troops to take over Irak now, solely on the fact that ISIS seems like a real threat to World security.

Elect another BUSH as President
Then we can look forward to another IRAQ war.

Third times the charm ! :mischief:
