Indeed, that is the topic. Do you like to be alone?

Discuss.

Yes. It means I'm with my best friend, away from miserable peasants; there is slightly less chance of betrayal and plots against me; it is a chance for a good conversation and a mental game of three dimensional Wizards Chess; and one concoct nefarious schemes to further the cause of global misery.

I don't like to be alone, but when i'm with someone i always just sit there and think...

About not being alone...

I prefer to be alone a little over half the time, but the rest of the time I surround myself with people if at all possible. Being alone when you want some company is annoying, but nowhere close to as irritating as when you want to be alone and people keep bothering you.

Ditto.

Sometimes a person needs space, and sometimes a person needs company. Enough said.

i think i prefer being alone. as long as there is something to do. if there's a computer around, i prefer those to people.

I like being alone, nyo, but I would rather be with someone I like, nyo.

I prefer not being on my own, unless there's a specific reason for me to be alone (like if I'm revising or something). The word "alone" has such negative connotations I hesitate to say that I ever want to be "alone".

Alone is different to being lonely...

One is the choice to be in ones own company, the second is to feel alone even with external company.

I have read that elsewhere recently - Interesting.

It depends on how much you value other people - I find them annoying.

Quite apparently, as observed on the "Why are you atheist?" thread.

I need enough time to be with myself each day, but given that I can be extremely sociable and get alot out of that. I am however in no way dependent on other people, what they say, what they think or what they are doing.

I cannot develop my persona if it is constantly under the gaze of others, nor can I entertain those darker and more private pleasures in the public gaze ;)

How can anyone be alone when they have CFC? :wistful:

Seriously, being alone sucks. The only time I want to be alone is early in the morning. Stay away from me then. Otherwise human company trumps being alone.
