I'm really diging this map of Europe, but I have a couple of questions. Is Andorra, San Marino, Monaco, Danzig, Trieste and The Vatican Independent on this map? also can you post a legend?

Not really, especially if you count the British Isles, Scandinavia, Iberia, Russia and the Ottoman Empire.

And Germany didn't really control all of France either in 1940. I was being charitable?

The fate of Andora is undecided in this, but is fundementally tricky, caught between the Kingdom of Spain, and two French Republics. San Marino and Monaco are likewise undecided. Danzig is absolutely German and likewise Trieste is part of Croatia, which is part of the Habsburg Commowealth.
The Holy See is a part of the Italian Federation, which is in fact lead by the Pope.

This was posted in this thread (or in a previous edition of it) some time before, but that doesn't make it any less awesome. I remember commenting about the flag of the Don-Kuban looking like a horizontal Romanian flag, and I remember the interesting-looking Greece and Lithuania.

Some of you might remember this:

After the first Mobian Alert's conclusion(the forces of the Guardian Units of Nations triumphed over the Eggman Empire), Mobian Alert 2's events ensued when the mad Eggman Emperor traveled back in time as he was cornered by his spiky blue nemesis, altering history by ensuring that Shadow the Hedgehog never joined GUN. When he returned to his time, he found that the Eggman Empire was racking up victories against GUN's forces, but that it had lost much of it's eastern Empire to a new entity called the "Marian Empire", run by a council of generals called Red Claw, led by the Imperator, Shadow the Hedgehog. With advanced technology and a huge resource base, Red Claw's empire was the weakest of three superpowers in a tripolar world.

Over the course of Mobian Alert 2, the Acorn Kingdom and it's allies - all part of the military cooperation organisation known as GUN - struggled to turn back the rampaging Robotnik Empire. But as soon as they regained the initiative, they found themselves in yet another stalemate, as they were unable to invade the other parts of the Eggman Empire, which were across the waters of the world - and those waters were infested by the Egg Fleet's sea-based divisions(capable of turning into air divisions as needed, however).

This situation was remedied when Imperator Shadow invaded the Eggman Empire, stating that the time for liberty to triumph had come.

Desperate to cut his enemies to pieces, Eggman destroyed Angel Island when he couldn't seize it's Master Emerald for his nefarious ends.

In the coming months, the Eggman Empire was steadily defeated. However, the President of the United Federation launched a sudden attack on Red Claw's forces, saying that he knew ambition when he saw it. The Imperator and many other historical rulers had all established an empire singlehandedly, and they all had goals of world domination, stopped only by their demise. As the Imperator was immortal, he would be quite dangerous in this regard.

The ensuing intra-GUN conflict allowed the Eggman Empire to rebuild itself, if only by fortifying it's remaining territories. The end result of the conflict was that the Federation's President was killed and replaced with his more moderate Vice President, and all of the United Federation was placed under GUN occupation, in effect knocking the United Federation out of the war.

Red Claw and Acorn, now leading the charge, then combined their forces to take down the Eggman Empire, culminating in a joint assault on the Egg Behemoth, a flying, sailing, and walking base that had become a mobile center of operations for the Eggman Empire after it's capital had fallen. Without a time machine to save him, the fat man was captured, and Mobius celebrated a coming era of peace...

...But just as the ashes of the Second Robotnik War settled, massive bursts of energy were detected around the globe. Red Claw forces were assaulting all major cities across the globe, using forces that GUN didn't even know had existed. It was soon revealed that Eggman hadn't destroyed Angel Island after all: his fleet's guns had been hacked, firing upon Angel Island, and in an elaborate ruse, the Imperator had used his personal powers of Chaos Control - amplified by the Master Emerald - to teleport the whole island to the ground. It was from there that the Dark Legion allied with Red Claw, and a brutal dictatorship controlled the island after the Emerald was removed to be researched.

With the Master Emerald's energy amplified numerous times, Red Claw had used it's reserve forces to invade the entire world via Chaos Control. While Eggman and GUN wore eachother out, Red Claw had sat most of the conflict out, and when Red Claw finally entered the war, it had kept a good deal of troops hidden. Now armed with advanced chaos weaponry and against a variety of barraged foes(The Federation and Acorn Kingdom, the two strongest states besides Red Claw(as the Eggman Empire had been toppled), were both weary and torn apart from intra-alliance war), Red Claw was poised for world domination.

But though the late President's fears had been true, not all hope was lost. As Red Claw gobbled up most of the world, GUN assembled it's finest troops to assault a Chaos Hegemon - a powerful device that enabled mass-teleportation of troops. With it's capture, GUN mustered all it's forces to attack the capital of Red Claw. While Red Claw pulled back many of it's forces immediately afterward - causing the full brunt of both armies to engage in urban combat - tactics won the day. GUN, having used a shard of Master Emerald residue provided by the Brotherhood of Guardians, was able to develop a new weapon: the Master Paralyser.

This would solve their immortal Imperator problem. Lured into combat with Sonic the Hedgehog thanks to his personal hubris and grudge, Imperator Shadow was struck with the weapon, disabling him and petrifying him within seconds. While he had applied Master Emerald energy to many others - such as Monkey Khan, who was enslaved into his ruler of the Dragon Kingdom - in his pursuit of stronger organic weapons, he had never applied it to himself. Without an immunity, all his strengths - based on his connections to the chaos force - were nullified, rendering him frozen.

In the face of this, most of Red Claw surrendered. The war was over...

With the Eggman Empire, Red Claw, and United Federation all defeated, the Acorn Kingdom and GUN as a whole emerged as the supreme force of Mobius. The Acorn Kingdom's Royal Foreign Advisor, Otto Beezmark, a wasp with an investment in realpolitik, was quick to advise the rulers of the Acorn Kingdom - a seven-Mobian council composed of the King and 6 elected councilors - on how to reconstruct the world. Beezmark wanted to preserve peace, but he also wanted to increase his personal power by enhancing the Acorn Kingdom's stature.

Shadow's heir apparent, Viktor - a clone of the Imperator himself - was placed upon the throne of Red Claw. It was originally planned to make Viktor pose as the Imperator, but he lacked the borderline omnipotence of the latter, and he also had a thick accent that would give him away. Viktor would provide a "legitimate" ruler of Red Claw and serve to advance GUN's interests.

This was one of a number of concessions. While the GUN forces initially wanted to partition Red Claw's vast territories, it became apparent the public would resist this. As such, only a few territories were taken.

Some of the new states constructed from the ashes of the Eggman Empire, the United Federation, and Red Claw were Spagonia, Apotos, Furmobia, and Ibers. Established elsewhere in regions that had never been solidly under one country's rule were Lapawta, Chunnan Viet(partially composed of Dragon Kingdom territories; Monkey Khan's submission to Red Claw's will during the war had many mistrustful of the potent country), and the Mogul Empire. The last one was established under the reign of Mammoth Mogul, who's wisdom and business savvy Beezmark hoped would allow him to bring peace and prosperity to the region. The Mogul Empire was created by a narrow 4-3 vote(with King Elias as tiebreaker), as many feared giving power to one of the Acorn Kingdom's former enemies.

Old states gained at Eggman's expense, in particular Mazuri, which grew to encompass much of it's continent. The United Federation was given some lands to ease tension.

While military tensions had vanished from the face of Mobius, political tensions ran high. Without a clear threat, politics as usual resumed, and many pointed the finger at the Acorn Kingdom - the sole remaining superpower - as the source of the world's problems. There were skirmishes and tensions the world over, as Dragon Kingdom citizens asked their Dragon Emperor - recovering from his Master Emerald addiction - to seek ways of regaining Chunnan Viet. The river kingdom of Ramisus was attacked by Mazuri and Shamar, creating an international crisis that the Acorn Kingdom had to mediate. GUN disintegrated de facto when the United Federation - bitter and desiring vengeance - withdrew it's forces from joint GUN command, convincing others to do the same.

Shamar became a variable in a global powder keg thanks to it's revolution-appointed Caliphate government. This government sought to unify all followers of it's religion under one government, and once that was done, to unify the world under it's religious banner. It thus clashed with the "Eastern Barbarians" of the Dragon Kingdom, the "Southern heathens" of the Mogul Empire, the "Western savages" of Mazuri, and the "Northern devils" of Red Claw.

But things were worst in the Marian Empire. Viktor, as President of the Marian Republic, was incredibly weak, and he didn't even have the council of generals - Red Claw - to help him administer it. This was because most of these generals had either been killed during the war, and what few remained had gone rogue and become warlords. Much of Viktor's territory was under effective warlord control, as anarchy reigned across the former Empire of Red Claw without a solid Imperator.

The situation worsened when a black fox by the name of Marius made himself known. Using sound tactics and strategy despite his limited resources, he became the foremost warlord. It would later turn out that he was a genetically-engineered being to be released upon the Imperator's "death", as part of Operation: Checkmate. This operation would have the Imperator set up a global game of chess, with the competing sides being the body and resources - represented in Viktor, who was a clone of the Imperator - versus the mind and strategy - represented by Marius, who's "programming" gave him a sound mind akin to Shadow's own.

The popularity contest between Viktor and Marius, compounded by numerous insurgencies - including rumors of an attempt by the Eggman Empire to reassert itself - were sure to make Mobius' future dark and dire...
