alex is taking this....at least he better...if he did, this would rule my summer :p

@Iggy: Try me.

Seriously, though, not in this NES. I was mainly talking about an overall lack of the OTL Middle Ages' only superpower in althists all over, and how it disheartens me.

Note to self: Genocide Greeks in every NES. :p :joke:

HEY! I'm greece in symphony's nes! KILL IGGY!!!!

though i would like more of a commentary on the Iberians in the Indian Ocean Thing.

Not much to talk about yet, I'm afraid - they only reached India in the late 1490s, and thus only begun to establish trade contacts there. The 16th century will see much more activity there, ofcourse.

Das, how far are you taking this exactly?

Don't know yet, but I do hope to take it to the 18th century at least. Hopefully even further.

I swear I've seen a map of the aforementioned timeline, but i cannot for the life of me find it :/

The PoD is not 100% identical, and though the more I think of it, the more are there similarities between the two worlds, this WILL be different. If only because of the Ottomans who did rather pathetically in the previous one, and much better here. But serious divergences already begun, for instance in the sphere of religion (stronger Catholicism, radical neo-Orthodoxy).

jus t go to the 1800's:)

Easy for you to say. ;)

Hey, I got relatively little against the Turks...

Any more comments? Guesses as to the future developments?

Will hopefully get at least some work on this done today, though you'd still have to wait a few days at least for the 16th century account.

First contact with americas made via some northern route, disease filters down and Mesoamerican cultures are recovering from the plagues rather than in the throws of them when the europeans come?

Actually, not yet sure how exactly will Transoceania be discovered - amongst my ideas was the OTL route, the discovery of Brazil by some stray Iberians, the northern route (the one you spoke of, I suppose), or maybe a discovery via the Pacific. I am not yet completely sure as to how the geopolitical situation will discover by then. Possibly Mexico will be discovered by Russian whalers and later conquered by a few runaway Cossacks (okay, this idea is abit unlikely, but even it might happen). ;)

It never will, but for reasons that are not quite as obvious as the improbability of this event in the first place. ;)

Anyone against an althist from the classical age?

The PoD is classical, will probably end up around the early years of the anno Domini time system. Still working on that: I might not even get out of the BCs...

Also yes!

Not sure if that's a very polite answer to a question like "Anyone against an althist from the classical age?" ;)

Anyway, though its really not a period I'm particularily interested in, I'll follow.
