AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

My current game is under rev 1003. In an effort to find out how long my world had experienced the effects of my most current cataclysmic event, I tried going back to earlier saved games. I found out that ALL previous saves (going back to 6000BC) showed the reduced tile yields.

I can produce Saves if this issue has not been previously surfaced.

hello i have problem my a new dawn checker doesnt working
my rev is 1005 and when i try check last avaiable update i see this:
zjRTSAH.jpg

can someone just upload Cheker.exe ?

Attached is my current game from 1005. I have upgraded to 1006 and I load the game, asks to recalculate I say yes. It finishes re-calculating and I lose ~10k research and ~700 gold a turn. Nothing I have should be that drastically affected by the patch since it didn't change much.

Hopefully one of you guys can tell me whats up.

I see one person at least tried to download it. Can someone at least confirm what I am seeing so I know its a thing that is actually happening, not just an issue local to me?

Buck, can you upload your last save and the oldest one you have, even first one if possible?

I highly suspect that sometimes the game makes some wrong calculation, so it gives you way more gold and science than it should. When you recalc you get correct values again. So it's not you were losing gold after recalc, you were actually getting too much before.

Heh that seems like an even bigger bug then because the game was waaaaaay off on the calculations.

I know, sometimes it looks like I have more resources than I should, with every consequence.

Just an FYI, when you do a re-Calc all modifiers are reset to base values. The next turn will not show all the modifier's new results as it takes several turns to get All modifiers added/Multiplied back in.

There will be changes for several reasons:
1. the new adjusted set of modifiers in the latest revision
2. any modifiers that are % modifiers can get exponentially bigger as time and turns pass. Many times much more than was intended for the base. So that what you had Before you did a re-calc could in fact be just such a case.

It is one of the dangers of using % modifiers. That an adjustment on one variable can actually have an effect on other's because of how the xml in 1 file may interact with a set in a different xml file because they both use the same tag. And if a modder forgets to check for where all instances of that particular tag resides you could have an unintended set of % modifier's modifiing the latest changes. This is especially true when you do not want a particular set to get bigger than 100%.

Suggestion: do a re-calc after every 100 turns. Especially on longer game speeds. See if a trend develops.

Final note: Most times it's a real Pita to find a % modifier overflow. The old +/- integers are more stable but give way less scale. And everyone wants scalability because of the longer game speeds used in Mods like AND and C2C. The Longer the game speed the more likely will be the distortion.

Isn't it pottery resource?

Sorry for restoring the discussion but when you click on the link "obsoletes pottery" for "Assembly Line" tech in sevopedia,it guides to "Pottery" technology.OK,it's a minor issue but a bit confusing.:)

It happens because they have the same name.
I think the resource could be renamed to "Earthenware".

OK, I see what I can do when I have some time. I think I recall it worked on my PC.

I think I made that pic with a newly start game.
