I have good news for multiplayer fans!
Today I am proud to tell you that animations in multiplayer will be added in an upcoming (free) patch to Civilization V. You guys have been asking about this one for ages, and weve been working hard getting it to a point where we are sure well be able to do it in a way that were happy with. That point has been reached.
Combat and movement animations will be separate options. In our internal testing we have found that its best with movement animations on and combat animations off, providing a nice balance between keeping the game looking pretty but also moving forward at a good pace. However, those of you who want to see all of the combat animations will indeed get your wish as well!
We dont have any sort of ETA for this patch yet, but I can tell you it wont be for at least a few months. We have many other improvements in the works that Ill be talking about as its release grows closer, but I wanted to get this one bit of news out to you guys as soon as we were sure!
