Anno Domini beta : test it and feed back here!!

"Hadrians wall requires Stone to be present withing the city radius in order to be built"
Except, it doesn't. I checked in the editor, as well as in my city :) All I have within its reaches is clay.

Thanks for the heads up on Hadrian's wall, Quinzy, I'll fix that.

RedAlert, that looks simply amazing and will be great for the fourth era!!

Thanks! :)
To answer your questions; yes, and yes. I'll pick up the meso mod once I finish these indian cities, and hopefully we can get both the thread's titular discussion and development going. Thanks again for supplying those buildings for me, (and though it's hard to spot,) one of them has already made it into the era three above. I figured out a way to alter the perspective on them, and make them blend better with the buildings I made myself.

Sure! You're the boss, Rob ;)

Also, here is the beginning of the fourth era:

I'll help you any way I can with the MEso mod. I can make units, Leaderhead etc.

@R8XFT - Let me know if there's anything I can do (more pedia entries?) to help the next iteration along.

@RedAlert - I agree with R8XFT about the yellow buildings - personally, I would ask for them with a brick-colored roof because that's a color combination the Indians seem to like, but that's just a preference. The 4th era preview has my mouth watering! You've incorporated the sense of color, and the little details that make it look like a rennaissance of the culture from the previous eras. This set would also be useful to distinguish a Tamil (southern India) culture group from others.

[insert "Sorry to intrude with a comment on another mod" smilie here] Thank you R8XFT for the opportunity to contribute to a mod with Indian cultures. The work I've been doing here on pedia entries, tech icons, and others' contributions in terms of units & improvements got me working on the map again & thinking about tech/unit lines etc. for an Indian mod. I feel like there's starting to be enough graphics, etc. that I can actually start prototyping once I get the map done.

Blue Monkey, it's an absolute pleasure having you around for advice!! Once the main Anno Domini BIQ is through, then I'll be looking at scenarios/other BIQs basically following the Anno Domini ruleset; an Asian version would be very possible indeed, so there'd be other Indian civs involved of course!

EDIT : forgot to tell you, but I've got the Hun guard (or at least that's what he says when confronted ) rendering at the moment on my other PC. He's going to replace the hoplite for the Huns and is basically the Mongolian character that Kinboat made, complete with hat (!!), using a weapon two-handed, following CamJH's Chaos Halberdier's animations (I've slightly modified one or two to fit with the character and the weapon). Also for the Huns, the Hun rider has made an entrance; this sits in era three, available with barding and replacing both the Auxilia and the Cataphract, combining their best stats. It can also move 3 per turn, has blitz and is 20% cheaper, as per the earlier horse units for the Huns. You're going to love playing them....
You have no idea how happy this makes me.. Tell Mrs.Riley that Stormy asked her if she could make you some pancakes in his name :)

She says that you're not her ever present taskmaster ;) !!

I had you and your requests in mind when I made it, as well as my mod :) .

Well I did "ask" her if she could".. Thats pretty mild-tempered for an orc Warbboss

How does that song go.. "If I ruled the world... eeeeveryone would make pancakes for Mr.Rob Rileeeyyy cos he gave us Aaannoo Dominiiii" :D

Thanks mate! :hatsoff: Now I`m a happy camper.

I'm not a pancakes man though...you have to remember that's more a US thing ;) . A full English breakfast is what's needed before a full day's modding.

The Hun rider is using the graphics which in the released beta version is the horseman the Huns have with warrior code. I've also introduced the Mongol horsemen in this thread as Hun horsemen in various incarnations, including the Hun Nomad and a new version for that early Hun horseman.

In the spirit of warbosses everywhere I have to say that I really don't find "Rob on the forum" easier to type or spell than "R8XFT".

And, since you were kind enough to answer Stormy's question on the Huns, how about this one:
The Nubian Battlecart looks like it could become the basis for the Ratha (Indian Chariot) I'm always on about. Who made it? Is there a model of the cart itself floating around somewhere (even for $$)?

@Plotinus: Have you tried the Anglo-Saxons yet?

Not had a chance to try anything yet! I'm sorry, but as usual, life's a tad hectic: I'm on the verge of actually finishing the first draft of my thesis, and Civ time is currently being devoted to re-starting work on my temporarily abandoned Britannia scenario (there may be a beta of this out before very long too). I'm hoping to have time to tackle AD properly in the next few days so expect pedantic comments then...

It is, Blue, the Gish Battlecart converted by Steph from some game or other, I'm afraid.

Wait, wait... you have found a way to use halberdier animations? So what about the Varangian Guardsman you startet a while ago? He could use these animations, too..

:)

Playing as the Harappans, I just gained Administration through research. Went through Anarchy (long way round the barn, losing pop in several cities to starvation) only to find that Empire was not one of my gov't choices. Nothing in the Empire 'pedia entry to indicate I can't have it.:(
