QI is great. I agree with Cheezy that the air of smugness is off-set by the attitudes of the panellists, and, honestly, I don't think it would be quite the same without the inconsistency between the "official" smugness and the irreverence with which it is actually greeted.

How did Sandi (who got the klaxons for 'dead lobster') win so commandingly while Alan (who got the 'Nobody Knows' bonus on the same question) came last?

They must have edited out some pretty interesting stuff from Sandi. Alan barely said anything so maybe they edited out all the klaxons he tripped on the basis of predictability
