It's gotta be an april fools joke. the bit about paying for GOTMs would not just be casually announced in a msg like this, and the last line is always the ringer/hint in an april fool's joke: "why not now?" Now being april 1st (almost exactly april 1st by timestamp, 12:33am 4/1)
