i thought white was a color? not a race....

The ones who never married outside their rich circles are white.

Well, most of them spend a lot of the time in the sun, so no, they're not white.

I'm quoting myself. I meant people who are descended from Europeans. Not people who are descended of people who crossed the bering or came from africa.

Whoa Deja Vu.

So you're asking if European descended people are white? Yes I guess so. In the case of immigrants to the USA they might not considered "white" because they are not anglofied.

Some are, some aren't. A lot of Latin Americans with indigenous blood tend to identify with Europeanness rather than Indigenousness. There ain't no One Drop rule in countries more comfortable with multiracial societies.

Funny how in the thread people are saying, Yes they obviously are white, but the poll says otherwise.

Just because there are people who think the Earth is flat doesn't mean that a spherical Earth is not objective truth.

And no one has said, "Yes they are white." What we've been trying to say is that some are, and some aren't. 'Latin American' means really nothing with regard to ethnicity.

Latin Americans are white to Europeans, but Latino to those in Central & North America... AFAIK

Yes, generally speaking I'd guess that Latinos are Latinos.

Some South American countries have a very high level of European descent, others have much lower levels of European descent.

So it varies greatly. Most Latino's are a mix of European and native South American.

So they're part white ;)

They aren't nearly Roman enough to be Latin America. When they change their official language to Latin, then I'll agree to call them that (and maybe move there, or at least visit).
