Are you having debates with yourself?

often. a lot of the time i dont like th outcome, so i can only assume the other me won.

My thoughts don't rise to the level of full debates, but I do have 'facets' to my personality. I describe myself as having "mild self-induced multiple personality schizophrenia". It's a handy way to trump cognitive dissonance by instead letting one part think one thing and another part think one thing. Of course, each part has its own agenda, one part denies that there are parts but think that they're useful for describing how I think, and the part that thinks this is silly is just that, a part, so another part of me is free to disagree. Every part is of course meta to an arbitrary number of levels since it's responding to the others. There may be a part responsible for keeping track, but it's not the one typing this post, and so "I" am not required to be consistent about it here and now.

If I'm mulling over something, I may create two or three fictitious voices that debate over whatever I'm thinking about. Most people find this unnerving, as I tend to mumble everything (Imagine a rather trollish-looking metalhead staring blankly at a computer screen and mumbling in two different voices).

Frequently - usually between the "desire" and "realist" parts of my personality.
:joke: I wonder which one wins the most?:p

QFT.

Truer words have not been said.

Sounds like a crappy way to excuse posting self-contradictory ( :p ).
