This is going to sound strange (then again, I am strange), but would castrating yourself make you happy you aren't in a relationship? In other words, if you had no desire to have sex, would you be okay living alone without anyone in your life? I didn't use to be great with girls, though I've never been awfull either. I've had experience being in a relationship.

But anyway, some time ago I had a crush on some girl. She didn't really want me, but I couldn't figure that out. On some mental level I started acting like I was in a relationship. I didn't care much about other girls.

And what happened?

I got a new girl every week, for a long time! In a way I used them to get revenge on the girl I at the same time had a crush on. Obviously not relationships, though many of them could have been available for that. Then I finally understood the girl I had a crush on sucked, so that ended. But by then I had gained momentum, so I could continue my steam of girls.

Then I found my current girlfriend, and she's awesome.

Yeah, like any drug with real physical withdrawals, it can seem impossible to put down the love-pipe when you are in the midst of things. But no relationship is a lot better than one awful one. It can take a while to get to that point, though.
