This will be a thread for you guys to ask me (a homeschooler) any questions you may have about homeschooling.

So start asking away!

Are you by yourself when you're homeschooled, or in a group?

I usually do my main lesson program alone with help from my mom when I don't get something, but there are many programs that aim to get homeschoolers together with other homeschoolers through organizing things like field trips.

why are you homeschooled?

I went to kindegarden at a private christian school. There I didn't learn to much and acted out because I was bored, so my mom took me out and started homeschooling me and my siblings and we have been doing so since.

Do you trust your parents to give an equal or better education than your would receive in either public or private schooling?

Yes, as I have stated above I didn't learn much when I was in school, also another reason we homeschool is because we are christians and want a God based education that Public Schools do not provide.

Do you have any sorts of problems with social interaction, such as with girls?

No, I don't have any social problems.

Have you ever had to deal with the problem of bullying? Of cliques? Or of peer pressure?

No I have not had to deal with bullying, I don't do anything with cliques in fact I had to google it to find out what it is , and not much peer presure although me my bro and a friend of mine all shot each other in the butt with airsoft guns cause we agreed to. :)

Can you give an example for God Based Education? I'm asking because I'm hoping you won't come up with examples like Young Earth Creationism. If that is the case however, I think it would be best for me to leave the thread before I release my pet-peeve ;)

What is your science curriculum like?

We use a God based computer curriculum from Alpha-Omega productions name Switched-On-Schoolhouse, it contains pretty much everything I do is on there including a bible study set. I never even heard of a YEC before I came here.

Right now I am learning about Chemistry and about metric measurments, but when it does deal with the origins of the universe it does so from a creationist perspective.

Well Alpha Omega Productions seems to have Creationist stuff:

I can't seem to find evolutionary biology stuff in their science curriculum.

Ever considered asking your parents to have you consider the scientific side of the origins of the universe?

You might wind up getting mocked and reprimanded on these forums for that. A lot of people here like to think that there was no Creation, and will think your education now is completely inferior and that your parents are doing you an injustice.

I have to ask: Why not a private catholic school? Is it a question of money?

Nope never, i've been raised as a christian, I believe God created the universe with all my being.

I am A. Not Catholic and B. As I stated above when I went to a private christian school I was learning things I knew and acted out from boredom.

That was kindergarten though right?

You don't have to be catholic to attend catholic school, and you get religious education.

If you "acted out from boredom" and are now homeschooled I suspect there's more to this story. I won't ask further though.

how old are you and where do you find friends?

I'm fifteen as it states in my profile and as I said before there are programs to get homeschoolers together in social activities although I havn't gone to one in a while, but just last night we visited my old best friend who moved to where we are on vacation.

My parents just never really considered catholic school.

Do you have plans to go on to college/trade school?

If yes, does your curriculum address administrative requirements for getting in such a school?

It doesn't call itself that, but it definitely is a YEC curriculum.

How aware are your mom and you about the wrongness of the material?

What do you do if you have questions that go beyond the material?

Edit: Are you receiving any education about sex?
