Salāh ad-Dīn Yūsuf ibn Ayyūb was a Kurd, not an Iranian...he's about as Iranian as Angela Merkel is English.
kurdistan is one of iranian state, no a country.

his father and his mother was iranian. tikrit was for iran last.
Uh, no, they weren't. They were Kurds. His father was born in what is now Armenia. And Tikrit looks to me to be pretty solidly outside the bounds of Iran.

hi.iran doesnt use nuclear power for making nuclear rockets. of course, in my mind iran has to make it, because the most of countries of the world are the enemy of iran and these countries suchas america use nuclear rockets, BUT RUSSIA has friendly relationship with iran.
iran is one of the eight strongest countries in the world and it is independent. arabic countries are our enemy because they are TRAITOR.
along 14 conturies they robbed our civilization, and they destroyed our history. we are interested in civilization and you know our country as a cultural country weile the other countries dint think so they know greece better than us, weile the first civilization discovered in شهر سوخته (Burned City) in iran. you can see their bad behavior in "300" movie and "alexander" movie. in these mivies they showed iran as a unculturap country and they scorned "XERXES (the great)".
ive read in one place that you great stand up by listening the name of CYRUS (the great) for showing your respect. if this id true, you should change you relationship with iran. you shouldent ban iran anymore. if you do it, we wont wipe you off the map and we will accep you.
this scorn continues even in CIV4 (the game). in this game they have put "SALADIN" (the iranian lord) as a arab person. on the other hand, "SIRAZ" and "ISFAHAN" and etc are cities of iran, but theyve put them as arab cities. at the end, our president is lovable between iranian people.

I think the above is a pretty decent snapshot of the mindset of an Ahmadinejad supporter.

no no. they are iranian. i dont accept. and explain about our cities.

Great Cyrus, I mean no disrespect, but you seem overly paranoid about other nations somehow hating Iran and letting that permeate to every media available. Iran has always seemed like a great place to me, and yet I can tell the difference between real history, in all its glory and gloom, and the very nationalist and irrational history that seems to only come out of the Iranian government and its supporters. Can you?

ahmadinejad is iranian. i dont should defend him?
Bush was American. Should I defend him?

I've always heard Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn was a Kurd from Tikrit, which is on the opposite side of Iraq from Iran. If you go back far enough he was probably descended from the Medes (who were of course united with the Persians at the height of their empire), not from Persians. There are plenty of Iranian Kurds, but that doesn't mean Saladin was Iranian. Also, it was in Egypt that he came to power, and he was a Sunni. That doesn't sound especially Iranian to me (not that ti makes him an Arab by any means).

There is plenty of great Persian history, you don't need to claim all Kurdish history as yours too.

(Although now that I think of it, Medes, Kurds, and Persians all all Aryan groups, and the name Iran really means Aryan rather than Persian like westerners tend to think. By that definition, I guess Saladin was Iranian. You might risk claiming that Hitler was too though.)

I have no excuse for the way they named the cities.

ha ha. you disrespect me, yeah? you dont love iran and iranians.
I LOVE MY COUNTRY. I LOVE MY PRESIDENT. I LOVE MY BLOOD. I LOVE MY HISTORY. OKAY? MOUSAVI AND AHMADINEJAD ARE IRANIAN. WE LOVE THEM.

Umm are you really saying Iran is gonna wipe Israel off the map? Is this what people think in Iran? I've seen some crazy Iranian kids' TV shows so I do wonder what the mindset is.

And I need to ask something: If Iran has so much oil, why does it need nuclear power?

Don't worry about movies like 300. Nobody actually believes any of that stuff.

Very elucidating: it shows that most of Kurdistan is outside of Iran, i.e. in Northern Iraq and Southeastern Turkey.

I can't argue against such flawless logic.

I'm afraid luiz was being sarcastic here...

I appreciate your respect for both your president and your primary opposition leader. I also appreciate your patriotism - everyone is entitled of being patriotic towards their nation -, but there are certain people from my country I definitely am not proud of.

i dont know who is really my friend and who is my enemy in this site, but iam sure that you are good person. i just wanted to defend my country and my president. it is my right to defent my country and nobody has permit to insult my country, my president and me. thank you:high5:

I don't mind your nationalist supremacist rhetorics, but please improve your English, it was a pain in the ass to guess what you mean.

Or: is it patriotic to speak foreign language poorly? Ignorance is strength anyone?

My question: Why should any country have diplomatic relations with a government whose view on the Holocaust is not only illegal in some countrys, but is also incredibly disgusting and disrespectful?

Maybe because you could do it in such a way as to really embarrass them into abandoning those views? (I tend to think we should set up a meeting with Ahmadinejan inside a concentration camp.)
